Taylor v Cameron: Fight week begins

John Ryder and his trainer Tony Sims join Steve over breakfast to look back at a special evening in Guadalajara. Promoter Eddie Hearn is also on the pod to reflect on the week in Mexico. We also hear from Canelo himself and Steve chats to British boxers Dalton Smith and Junaid Bostan, who were also in the stadium.

They chat to him about the injury that led to him being stripped of his IBF super-featherweight title last year and how the whole situation left him pondering his future. Back fit again, and fighting this weekend against Shavkat Rakhimov for his old belt in his hometown of Cardiff, he explains why he feels he will have the better of his opponent. Plus, his trainer Tony Sims is also on the pod and he and Steve take a trip down memory lane.

Carl Frampton joins Steve to look back at Joe Joyce's first loss as a professional. The referee stopped his fight against Zhilei Zhang in the 6th round at the Copper Box when Joyce’s right eye closed shut. We hear from Joyce, discuss where it went wrong and ask where he goes from here. Plus, Steve took the pod to York Hall on Friday night to watch Tysie Gallagher beat Lisa Whiteside to become the new Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Champion. He hears from both boxers.

Steve is back on the road this week as he spends the day at the Haringey Box Cup - Europe's largest amateur boxing event. Joined at Alexandra Palace by Olympian and former Box Cup champion Cheavon Clarke, they speak to many of the fighters, trainers and organisers to get a feel for what the event is all about.
