We have all played that game where we make shadow figures on the wall using our hands in front of a light. The truth is that our hands are a certain size, but depending on where we place them in relation to the light source, the shadow can look WAY bigger as its projected against the wall. It's just the same with fear. It can appear way bigger than it actually is - but the truth is that it is simply a shadowed and distorted projection of the real thing.  Sometimes we can get so caught up in the emotion and consequences of what we fear, that it looks far bigger than it actually is and we let it rob us of the power that God gives us to walk in. It can consume our thoughts and make us focus on what the enemy is trying to convince us can go wrong, instead of looking at the hope that Jesus brings.  As we look at the reality of how God helps us to agree with His Truth instead of the enemy’s lies, we find the beautiful keys that He has provided us with that help us to walk in power instead of being incapacitated by fear. Finding Your Happy Place

I was watching a collection of videos the other day and some of them were truly inspiring and I got a shot of encouragement to go after my dreams! But, after watching others in the series, I got really mad. I felt a holy disagreement rise up in me and I cried out to God to help me do something about it! As I talked it through with Him, I asked myself these questions and I encourage you to ask them too… When you look at the world around you, what do you see that really breaks your heart? What makes you cry at the injustice or pain or despair of a situation? What makes you passionate enough to do something that is way out of your comfort zone? Once you let yourself answer these questions you will see how God's heart and yours are passionate about the same thing. Break My Heart For What Breaks Yours

The other day I got into my car and twisted my hip in such a way that it ached for days. At the height of when it was most sore, I had a coaching appointment with a client, but all I could think of was the pain in my hip. I stopped and took a deep breath just before I got on the call and reminded myself of this verse.   He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. 2 Cor 12:9 (Amp)   The Truth of God’s love and care for me settled into my heart and mind and I felt faith and hope rise up from my belly. As I felt the weakness in my physical body and acknowledged that even though I may be an experienced coach - I am just a human being, I felt the love and pleasure of the Lord for both me and my client. In that session he got free from a defensive belief system and we set him up for huge success for the meeting he would be going into the next day with a client of his own.   It never ceases to amaze me how, when we acknowledge our own limited ability as human beings and keep our eyes fixed on God - partnering with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit in order to bring heaven to earth, amazing shifts happen in our lives and God is glorified.   So, just like Paul, I will tell of my weaknesses all day long so that the power of Christ can be shown in me - and every heart can be filled with hope.   As you listen to today's podcast episode may you not only remember how magnificently you are made, but also that the majesty of God gets to be displayed through your life as you yield to Him.    Share this episode with someone who needs this encouragement and hope today.   Jesus is inviting you on an adventure today - will you accept?   Come visit us at www.TheWaysOfWisdom.com for more encouragement.

My husband and I have two very different personalities. I like to do a lot of things fast, and he likes to do a few things slowly. When we drive to work in the morning I like to go on the highway and he likes to take the back roads. This morning we were earlier than usual so he said to take highway. What do the apples in your basket look like?

I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own  (Phil 3:12 TPT)   Part of the beauty of being a Christian is that we get to 'come as we are, but not stay as we are'. We GET to become more like Jesus each day as we let God's love in, accept what Jesus paid for us to have and rely on the Holy Spirit to help us navigate daily life. We get to go into the Promised Land that God is inviting us to inhabit.  Problem is...there are giants that will try to intimidate us into seeing ourselves as grasshoppers (Num 13:33) and if we let them succeed, we'll turn around and run.
