Azul is just one of those games. It’s a game about laying tiles but not a tile laying game. It’s abstract and yet the there is a theme. It’s simple yet strategically there is a lot going on with every move. This is one of those games that you start out talking rationally to your friends about how to play and next thing you know you’re waving your hands madly about and cursing that time you had to smash tiles and missed out on completing a row.
