Poetry from Adam Horovitz, the poetry judge in the inaugural Bare Fiction Prize for Poetry 2014. It seems fitting to launch the Bare Fiction Prize with a reading by one of our judges, so today we have poetry from Adam Horovitz. Adam’s new book, A Thousand Laurie Lees is a poetic memoir of his time growing up in the Slad Valley. He moved there with his parents, the poets Michael and Frances Horovitz, shortly after he was born in 1971. And it’s evident that the Gloucestershire countryside has been a fantastic inspiration for much of Adam’s writing. A Thousand Laurie Lees is a truly wonderful book, published by The History Press (UK: June 2014, USA & Canada: Sep 1st 2014). He is co-editor of The Isis, a long standing independent magazine established at Oxford University in 1892 as well as being the current vice-president of the Oxford University Poetry Society.
