Challenging the Challenger with Perri Chase

Trigger warning!  On today's episode, I discuss how the challenger personality type becomes solidified within us and often times, that is as a result of an instance of trauma or repeated trauma in our formative years.  I alert you with a heads up at the time during the episode where you may want to fast forward.  We will dive deep into the enneagram, attachment styles, and self-leadership to learn more about what our anger is trying to teach us throughout the episode and it will be confronting, I promise. Where Did All This Anger Come From?

If you say someone embodies patience, you may see them pausing before they respond to you in ALL situations, no matter their emotional state. If you say that someone is present in the moment, you may see them joking or laughing with the group or supporting one person off to the side, speaking softly as they comfort them through a difficult time. If you say that someone is the embodiment of a quality, you may mean that that is their most noticeable characteristic or the basis of all they do. On today's episode, I will share what I've learned through my own embodiment practices and how they relate to The Enneagram, attachment styles, and self-leadership.  As a challenger on the Enneagram, I tend to lean towards more intense activities that teach me how to embody strength, confidence, humility, and direction in my life. What is an Embodiment Practice?

What is empathy?  On today's episode, I will walk you through how I learned that I needed to show more empathy for others and the journey I've been on since.  There are three types of empathy: cognitive, emotional, and when you combine the two... compassionate.   It took a series of tough life experiences to show me that I could communicate with empathy in a more caring way.  In today's episode, I refer to a Maya Angelou quote to exemplify this, "Do the best you can until you know better.  Once you know better, do better." What Does Empathy in a Relationship Feel Like?
