Er, I meant Cats! Good lord, who greenlit this eldritch horror, it's worse than a Robert Zemeckis film, and that's saying something. In this episode, we of course talk a bit about the waking nightmare known as Cats, as well as a plethora of other things! SDCC 2019 had just begun when we started talking, and some new trailers for movies had come out. Chief among them were IT 2, Top Gun Maverick, and Jay and Silent Bob: Reboot, which we're all somewhat excited for, in varying fashions. Nat never really got into Top Gun, so some re-watching is in order before the new movie comes out, and the same goes for Jay and Silent Bob. While the latter is looking to be more of a stoner-boner comedy than the original and probably won't be a cult classic like the original, it'll be interesting nonetheless. There was some other news related to both a remastering of Batman Beyond, and a new Warhammer 40k show that's coming somewhere at sometime. Apparently it's directed by the guy who did Man in the High Castle, so he's quite capable of directing a show about fascists. Only time will tell if any of the above mentioned things will be good but check out the podcast for a more in-depth and scatter-brained look at our thoughts on all of them! ClusterCast Ep. 6 – SDCC 2019 Trailers and Furries

This week on Cluster Cast, Nat and Enrique tackle a wide variety of subjects, including subtitles, a battle royale, and basic human decency in game development. It's pretty fair to say that Neon Genesis Evangelion is making waves in the news lately for all the wrong reasons, which is unfortunate. There's been some changes in the translations of the show, changing some very iconic and pivotal lines in the show. A couple of them take a little bit away from the impact that the originals had, and a whole lot of people are voicing their opinion on it. That, and the original ending song, Fly Me To The Moon is not included anymore, due to some licensing issues (pesky licensing, ruins everything). Apex Legends also is getting a big, fat update with Season 2, and we talk about that quite a bit. The game has been starving for some kind of major change, and this looks like the start of many big changes to come. Destiny 2 is also in the news as of late, because Bungie is treated it's employees like humans and not forcing them to get a new patch out faster than they humanly can. There's something really unsettling about the fact that a studio is treating people like people and they're being praised for it. The industry as a whole has had a sickly obsession with insane crunch times until now, and people are finally getting the message that 80 hour work-weeks are bad. If this means that big AAA games come out less often, I'm okay with that because I can't keep up with them at the rate they come out right now anyway. Please, big AAA game companies, let your devs do their work at a reasonable rate, stop treating them like sweat-shop workers. "Making you a better geek, one post at a time!"

Cluster Cast: Apex Genesis Evangelion

E3 came and went this year and Enrique and Nat had a lot to say about it. Or maybe we didn't, maybe we went off on like 3 or 4 side-tangents while TRYING to talk about E3. That definitely didn't happen. Seriously though, there were a lot of big announcements this year, and although some people were calling it a pretty lame year, we enjoyed the hell out of it. A new Halo game trailer instantly set my hype ablaze for the game, then hearing about the release date really deflated that. The fact that the definitive way to play the game will be on a different console is also a little hard to swallow. It really doesn't feel like the Xbox One has been around as long as it has. By the time the game releases, it'll be 7 years old, and that makes ME feel old, which I do not like one bit. Check out the podcast and we'll see you again next time for things that DONT involve E3. Thrones Time: Breaking Down GoT – S8E5 – The Bells

The internet is rife with all kinds of drama these days, and it's oh-so-fun to talk about. Avengers: Endgame is also fun to talk about, that's why almost half of this podcast is pretty much dedicated to talking about that. The other half is mostly spent talking about ProJared's dick that his wife has most likely confiscated at this point. That, and Randy Pitchford BEING a dick, as per usual, and getting into all kinds of trouble with Claptrap's voice actor. Luckily, Endgame is pretty easy to talk about, and since I literally just saw it the night before we talked about it, it all rolled right off the tongue. Why is Thanos suddenly just a malevolent jerkoff in this movie where he was kinda relatable in the last one? Does watching a trailer ruin half of the suspense of the movie? Will Tobey Maguire ever get to meet Captain Marvel? We DEFINITELY answer all of these questions within this podcast, just Enrique and I. Thrones Time: Breaking Down GoT – S8E4 – The Last of the Starks

Games of Thrones' long night has come and gone for the heroes of the North, but that doesn't mean we're done with breaking down Season 8, Episode 3, which was much more controversial than many predicted. Not in terms of what happened, but more in regards to what didn't happen, as well as the poor visibility showcased throughout the episode. Plus, a major plot thread got resolved in a way that left many fans feeling a bit cheated, so I have dubbed this episode the Game of Thrones version of The Last Jedi! Anyway, Nick, Keith, and I riff on all things The Long Night, which is the title of the episode that featured the Battle of Winterfell and plenty of dimly lit shots. We start out with our general reactions to the episode, which I would say weren't quite as positive as we all thought going into Episode 3. Keith really wasn't a huge fan of this episode thanks to the shit lighting and a few narrative choices, but Nick appreciated it much more, although he too had a few issues with it. I also found the lighting to be ridiculous, but did find the episode to be extremely intense, so while I didn't like how the Night King thread was resolved with a stab of a dagger, I was entertained by what I could see at the time. Thrones Time: Breaking Down GoT – S8E3 – The Long Night

Game of Thrones Season 8 continued this past Sunday with a fantastic, low-key episode that allowed fans to get one more night with their favorite characters before most of them probably get killed by the Night King's forces. It featured great dialogue and character development, plus a few top moments that fans have been waiting to see for decades. Naturally, Nick, Keith, and I, fired up the Thrones Time cast to discuss this episode, which is titled, "Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", so we first give our general reaction to the episode as a whole. We all agreed that it was a great episode, and one of the best in quite sometime, although, it did take me a bit to get to that level of understanding, because at first I found the episode to be a bit underwhelming. With that being said, I realized my errors and did fully appreciate the moments we got. Speaking of moments, we also went over the top 11 moments that I detailed in our weekly recap of new Game of Thrones episode. We cover each one and discuss why they stood out, and of course, a few even led us tangental talks, so it was fun to hear how we all interpreted this top scenes. Finally, we give a few bold predictions about how many major characters will die in Episode 3. We came in anywhere from 3-6 major character deaths, with the likes of Brienne, Pod, Tormund, Berric, and Theon being the most likely to go out like heroes while defending Winterfell. Thrones Time: Breaking Down GoT – S8E2 – Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

It's a glorious time for Game of Thrones fans thanks to the return of the show for its eighth and final season. The first episode of Season 8 has aired, and "Winterfell" didn't disappoint. While it may have been a bit light on major reveals, it still offered up plenty of memorable moments, while also peeling a layer or two back on the mysterious threads we've been following for years. Naturally, the Thrones Time team slapped their headsets on to break down the first episode's top moments, as well as to discuss our overall critique of the episode. For the most part we all loved the premier, but felt it was missing a bit of a punch. With that being said we appreciated a few of the fan service moments, and thoroughly enjoyed Sam's big reveal to Jon. We also look towards Episode 2 and provide basic speculations on where we think it will go based on how the first episode ended. We also take clues from the trailer to guess where certain plot threads may wind up by the end of the episode. While both exciting and sad, the final season of Game of Thrones kicks off this weekend. Thrones Time: The Season 8 Preview

Hey now geeks, after many years of silence, we've dusted off our original podcast show, which mainly features discussions on video games, but we also throw in some geeky movie and TV talk when warranted. It's probably been over 3 years since we regularly did a show dedicated to gaming, so it was fun to fire it up again with two new hosts. Both Nat Smyth and Enrique Cancel joined me as we interviewed Nat about his trip to PAX East 2019, which has been a staple of his gaming coverage each year. Nat zeroed in on Indies at the show, and had the most fun while at Devolver's booth. He discussed a few of the publisher's upcoming titles, which he's been writing previews for right here on EB, so make sure to check them out. We also tapped into the debate surrounding Anthem, in particular, a recent Kotaku article that highlighted some internal issues at Bioware. We talked about those and how they may have affected the game's development and end result. We also talk about our own experiences with the game, and how we want to love it, and still dabble it, but that it ultimately failed us in terms of the expectations we had for a Bioware title. Finally, we discussed the Avengers: Endgame special look trailer from last week. We talked about some of the more interesting new looks, and how there has to be some time traveling going on. GT: Talking Indies at PAX East, the Anthem Problem, and Endgame Theories

It's been a great week for Game of Thrones fans thanks to a bevy of news coming out for the show's eighth season, which included the very first real deal trailer for the show's final run. We also got a detailed breakdown of the Battle of Winterfell, which is said to be the largest battle ever filmed. It's even going to be longer than the Helm's Deep melee featured in Peter Jackson's The Two Towers! Anyway, thanks to the release of the trailer, which clocked in at just over 2-minutes, myself and the other two thirds of the Thrones Time podcast team got together to break it down and speculate on what we think the footage means. We start from the beginning and work our way to the final frame of the trailer, and we even go over characters or locations that were missing from the trailer. Luckily, Nick complied a handy bulleted list of key events from the trailer that we worked off of, so you can follow along with it below. While the trailer showed a ton of footage, it didn't really show us anything at all, which we all agreed was the best type of trailer, especially for a show with as much secrecy behind it as Game of Thrones. Thrones Time: Breaking Down and Speculating on The Game of Thrones S8 Trailer

In this podcast, Ray and I break down the fifth and sixth episodes of this season's Deadly Class. A lot happens in a matter of hours for Marcus. After ingesting copious amounts of acid and tripping out during the entirety of the gang's trip to Vegas, he finds himself implicated in two deaths and his former bunkmate turned nightmare is hot on his tail. While the show focuses on Marcus, Ray and I dicuss our growing affection towards Billy, who continously proves himself time and time again in a variety of ways. His ill-formed--but truthful--relationship advice towards Marcus reminds us that he and the others are still kids and just trying to learn as they go. Even if that learning involves constant beatdowns, stabbings, and bad trips.
