Together they have co-written a raw and original double memoir The Silence Between Us as a conversation between mother and daughter.  It centres on Oceane’s high lethality suicide attempt as an 18 year old (almost 20 years ago), and is based on private diary entries written by Oceane and her mum at the time as they process their shock, fear and grief and try to work together to heal. Break the cycle is a campaign created by Wellways to promote positive health and reduce the rate of suicide. Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44 years of age and has a devastating impact on families, friends and communities. We talk to Ned about his recent ride around Murrumbidgee and about the amazing work they did for suicide prevention along the way. Following on from Homelessness Week last week, we will be chatting to Ben tonight. Ben has experienced Homelessness multiple times in his life and he is very passionate about reducing stigma and dispelling the myths that people have about homeless people and especially people  sleeping rough. Ben has agreed to come onto the show to talk about some of his Homeless experiences including rough sleeping, and how he and beautiful dog Cami meet their basic needs. Ben will chat to us about the events that led up to him becoming homeless in hopes that sharing his story will help us all to get a better perspective, and to help others who share a similar story. We will also be chatting to Haley from Wellways around some of the supports that Wellways is currently providing and also what we all can do to help those in need.
