(Note: I refer to "cis-gender" as last episode's Definition of the Day; the first episode was re-recorded, and the definition was changed!) Call to action: Put yourself in a member of the LGBT+ community's shoes and try to feel what they would feel, without judgement.

Definition of the Day: Queer Find out more about the history of the word queer: https://www.cjr.org/language_corner/queer.php (Correction: *Questioning* is also a term used for people who are trying to figure out where they fit in the LGBTQ+ community. In the podcast, it is implied that 'queer' is the only term used.) Call to action: Notice the rhetoric about LGBT+ community that you and the people around you use, especially in church settings. Episode fun fact: our reservation with the standard sound booth fell through for the interview, so Madeline and I crammed ourselves in a 3x3 booth for more than an hour to do the recording. Episode 1: The November Policy, Allyship, and Gray Burton

Love and religion are some of the fundamental parts of our identity, but the two often intersect in complicated ways. "Candid Conversations" examines the intersections between the LGBT community and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a series of interviews that feature members of both groups. In addition to the interviews, "Candid Conversations" seeks to strengthen understanding and compassion between the two communities and to highlight experiences of those within the intersections of the two.
