The focal point of the Church has shifted. Jerusalem is still the birthplace of the church, but another large city has become the launchpad for the Great Commission work extending to the ends of the earth. Antioch became the home of the Christians.

Peter's journey away from Jerusalem was preparing his heart for the next dramatic move of the Gospel. As he encounters the centurion known as Cornelius, we are encouraged to look in the mirror to see how we respond to those who are different from us.

The focus of Acts' camera changes from Saul to Peter. However, we encounter a Peter who is about to have his view of the world transformed by the power of a Savior who loves the whole world, not just an isolated nation.

Join us this week as Our Worship Pastor, Foster Payne, preaches from 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Peter’s ministry to the Gentiles was followed up by Paul’s, and both men’s example is one we should follow in dealing with others – engaging with the world in ways that are relevant to them, ways that capture their attention. Our message, the Gospel, will never change, but our methods of communicating the Gospel have to.

Being Relevant: Winning the Lost for Christ (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)

Saul’s conversion led to his preparation for ministry. In spite of his fame, his conversion wasn’t immediately paraded around the community. Instead, he spent a season of preparation in the desert. Instead of being celebrated, he was met with resistance. We are reminded that ministry is hard work. But it is God’s prerogative to use those difficulties for his glory and for the growth of his Kingdom.

In Acts 9, we see one of the greatest transformations in the Bible: The feared hunter of Christians, Saul, met the One True Lord and he would never be the same.

Commissioned: The Hound of Heaven (Acts 9:1–19)

Join us this week as we continue to follow Phillip. Leaving behind the crowds of Samaria, he takes a long, lonely journey into the desert for just one man. We're reminded that God's Kingdom is spread through individual conversations and individual decisions. God loves the One because it is the One that leads to the many.

Though tragic, the death of Stephen results in a viral spread of the Gospel beyond Jerusalem and Judea. Samaria became ground zero for the next move of the Holy Spirit. Phillip was one of the key figures in this move. Join us this week as we look at Phillip's powerful role in the fulfillment of the Great Commission

Commissioned: Outbreak (Acts 8:1–25)

One of the new deacons in the infant church finds himself in hot water with the religious authorities. True to form, he doesn't back down. His courage ends up costing his life, but paves the way for the further expansion of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Join us this week as we look specifically at Stephen's defense and seek connect it to our lives today

This week, the church in Acts has to deal with a serious controversy. However, instead of splitting into factions, the church rises to the occasion and serves with excellence. Their service is an example for our service today.
