How do you do with recall of that year? So many of us have people we know who are no longer with us. How do you recall or even honor a time of life that hurt so many people.  Some people find their voice in tragedy and some people lose it. Sometimes we even lose our voice because we can’t articulate our truest thoughts. I will not lie and tell you there were times (not extended) but brief times where I felt speechless. Would what I would want to say be received well? Would it seem inconsiderate to the people around me? Was it something that would resonate with others? Would it validate me to hear other people are feeling the same thing?

You're On Mute

This is the narrative I tell myself every day.  There is not a day that goes by where I don’t have doubt or fear creep in. They usually go hand in hand. Not a day that goes by where the enemy tries to ask me just like he asked Eve, “is this really what God said?” Is this really what God has called you to? Because THIS right here is hard. This is uncomfortable. Would God  really want YOU to be uncomfortable? Would he ask you to do something or some things that you dont desire to do?    You see the enemy doesn’t have to hurt us to take us down to become ineffective. He only has to create doubt. He only has to remind us to be comfortable and operating in what we deserve….   Is this really what God said? 

Aim Small, Miss BIG with your life purpose

choosingthebestyou.com My question for you, is are you on the road to where God desires you to be? What will you do there? Do you know where you are going and is God in it?  Have you prayed and sought him for what he wants versus what you want   I know so many people who put limitations on their lives for what God can do based on what they want. It’s sad to see. It's sad to see people with limiting belief for what God can do.

The Road to De-Maskus

I have done a lot of assumptions in my life. I assume that if I work hard and make a great living that I can live accordingly right? If I can build this home or buy a home in a certain area that I deserve to live there? Just because we can do certain things, doesn’t mean we should. We are learning that God blesses us so we can bless others and that those worldly things we think we want, need and deserve will fade but the legacy of what we leave behind matters more. Are you willing to give up something you love, for something you love more? The world certainly does a great job at applauding us for the vacations we take, the houses we live and the socioeconomic statuses we have but is that what THIS life is about? Is that the end game?

Wanting What God Wants

Clearly, God responds. He wants our relationship with Him to be our consuming passion—what we think about, what we talk about, what we’re constantly hungry for more of and willing to do anything for—because He knows once we’ve experienced His manifest presence, our appetites will be whetted for more. And more. Those in the Scripture who didn’t let obstacles become excuses for not seeking Him, or back down at others’ disapproval of their unabashed appeals for mercy, or give in to the despair of delay but latched on to Him for dear life—they received what God was obviously willing to give them. 

Getting the results you want in life

How does a mom get to a point where she leaves her kids husband and kids with no plan to come back?  Why did I feel like leaving the 4 people I loved the most was the only option and  why why why was a person who has tremendous faith and hope at the point of hopelessness? I thought that if I left, that would distance me from the sadness, from anxiety and from the hopelessness.  But the truth is, they were not the source of my stress and anxiety…

Anxiety is not in your head

You know the ripple effect that would and could happen if more people were living the life they are designed to live?? there would be less lack of confidence, less lack of hope, less muddy waters for what this life is about. The more we see the world through the lens of expecting things to be “not bad” vs less bad, we can move on smartly with purpose, for purpose and on purpose.

Less Bad Days

We are very much a socially connected and driven society. We value and connect with other people. We see ourselves in others and others see themselves in us.  We trust that connection. We were made to have that connection. Think about why this matters so much to God. He is a God of relationship- he made us. He desires to be connected to us and when we are connected to Him and connected to others - those he also created - we become conduits, we become a catalyst. But catalyst is a choice. We all have the opportunity to choose to be a catalyst. 

Your Past Should not define You, it should refine you

Somewhere along the lines, our mindset around money has become compromised. We tell ourselves a story that we can’t have both ministry and money or that if we have extra time, it should be devoted to ministry work.    I believe that wherever we go as Christ followers, its ministry because He lives in US and people who we come in contact with Get us.    If I didn’t have the revenue that I have, I would not be able to give what I give. Not only does what I do for a living provide for our family, it provides for others.    What is also unique about what I do in my industry, is that not only can I equip people to healthier lifestyles, the company I am partnered with, provides the ability for people to earn extra income for their household.  www.choosingthebestyou.com

Faith and Money

This is a very difficult topic for discussion. I imagine it could potentially even stir up some unsettled feelings for some people too. I know it does for me. I know I have ways that I can grow in this topic as well. I have been hurt. I know other people have been hurt  by people who are different than us, who have different life views, different lifestyle choices and are simply different. But different is the way we are created. Not one of us is alike. We all have aspects to the way God has created us that we can choose to see as polarizing or we can choose to celebrate in a more positive unified manner. 

Choosing Unity

Apathy -  Indifference and Passivity - the root of these 3 light dimmers is pride and self We want to look good. We want to feel good. We want to feel valued and recognized. No where in the Bible does it say we will always feel our best, look our best or feel valued. Those thoughts and feelings are around self. When we find Joy - we are thinking about Jesus first, we are thinking about others second and we think about the “you” which is us last. 

Is Your Light Growing Dim?

What is the bigger picture of what will be accomplished when you move in more freedom and to not be held back in hesitation. What story are you telling yourself that simply isn’t true because your brain is wired to keep you safe?  Hesitation is a spirit and it has a powerful way of holding us back from more and more fruit in our lives. It's exactly where the enemy desires us to be and I am calling him out and saying not today. Today the victory belongs to the Lord for me and it can be for you too. 

Hesitation From the Life More Abundant

So when we look at our friends list and see we have 1000 friends and only 3 people liked or loved a social media update - we place value on our lives based off what we see as “not happening” or happening as a validation  that we are on the right path. We focus on the 997 people who didn’t validate us!  We are also programmed to pull the plug on what we put our hands to in life when what we are doing seems like it's not rendering fruit or benefit right? I don’t know anyone who wants to be known as the person who continued to pursue something that wasn’t working because it makes us look stupid, inferior and unintelligent. Like who does that? Who pursues something that doesn’t appear to be rendering a positive result?

Episode 67 Would You Do It If No One Was Listening?

We are similar to a tree. We can have things in life happen that disappoint us, discourage us, sadden us and when we allow these things to deteriorate us, we erode on the inside. On the outside we are still living breathing normal appearing human beings but on the inside we are not even close to structurally sound. We are either sound or we are compromised.   It's ok to have less than desirable things happen in our life but we can’t let them erode us. God didn’t give us a spirit of defeat and if you are experiencing defeat its a choice. We choose to rise or we choose to erode.  These choices impact our ability to stand tall and walk in confidence in who we are created to be.  

Standing Tall or Sitting Safe?

  We will always have many areas we can put our hands to - in fact, its pretty much limitless what we could say yes to each and every day.    Sometimes though we say no to awkward, uncomfortable and challenging and tell ourselves a story that we don’t need to be in that kind of chaos and the truth is, we are already equipped to walk through the fire and have the ability to come out not smelling like smoke   What are you saying no to right now because you fear it will be a reflection of your lack of self trust?    You my friend are worthy of being trusted and you don’t need to compromise your ability to have impact Trust that God will equip you every step of the way for what is already laid before you.  When you trust what is before you, you will be a great steward because we are a whole number - we are complete with God as our best power partner. When we are stewarding what is before us, we can multiply, expand and have joy and peace in the process.
