Christianity Makes Sense Emotionally

In this episode we explore our need for a champion. Death is the great equalizer of all people and Scripture says that the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23). We have earned death but Jesus comes into the world as our champion. He goes before us into death to destroy death. He liberates us from the bondage of fear.

In John 14 we learn that we have two advocates. We have Jesus Christ as our advocate. Jesus speaks for our behalf but the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts. The Spirit directs you to Christ and reminds you of who you are in Christ.

This week we focus on the sign that Jesus performed at Cana of Galilee when He turned water to wine. In this episode we see Jesus as Lord over the feast. We also realize that we are in need of purification that only the cross of Jesus can give us.

In John 11 we see Jesus encounter two sisters that are in deep grief. Jesus reveals a bit of His glory and in this story we see the fact that He is the God-man. 

Episode 3 - The Grieving Sisters

In Episode 2 of Christ and Culture we explore Jesus meeting an insider and an outsider. In John 3 we meet Nicodemus and he had everything you could want. He had power, respect, and was a religious insider. In John 4 we meet the Samaritan woman at the well and she was an outsider in every way possible. She was a heretic, a Samaritan and was a sinner. Both Nicodemus and the Woman at the Well both looked for satisfaction in the wrong place. Jesus comes to tell us and them that the answers we seek and the satisfaction that we crave must come from Him. 

The Insider and the Outsider

In this episode we will explore the problems of skepticism in the person of Nathaniel found in John chapter 1. We examine the problem of skepticism, the need for ultimate purpose, the person that reveals that purpose, and the paradigm shift that Jesus calls us to in our lives.
