Beginner campers all over the world enjoy the simplicity of camping every weekend.   How much effort you put into adequately planning your camping trip will determine how successful (and enjoyable) your trip will be.  Though some of these tasks may seem tedious and tiresome, the more often you put these tasks into practice the more fun you will have doing them.   Here are 30 Things You Must Know Before You Go On Your First Camping Trip:   Gather all your camping equipment in a corner of a room and keep adding to it as you think of it.   Use basket shelves in your car for easy storage.   Store your clothes in sports bags.   Make sure all heavy items are secure and are packed at the bottom of your car boot with lighter items on top.   Take one prepared meal in a freezer meal that can be easily reheated on arrival at your destination.   Make sure you have everything you need for a drink stop like tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, condensed milk, cordial, powder, biscuits, a two liter bottle of water, matches, kettle, wet wipes and tea cloth   If you are going away for a short trip prepare your hot dishes so that you have more time to relax at your camp site and enjoy yourself.   Stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables at every chance.   List everything you will eat on the number of days you are away.   Keep extras always on hand which includes flowers for cakes and breads, noodles, rice, beans and lentils.   Remember long life milk (two to three cartons of long life milk per day should be sufficient for a family of two children and two adults as a guide).   Try camping in your backyard to see how you feel about your tent and sleeping bags etc.   Your first camping gear does not have to be expensive.  It is more important that it is durable and keeps you protected from all weather conditions.  Bring a piece of ground cloth with you, a piece of plastic that goes under your tent.  Tuck the edges neatly underneath the tent.  The first thing you must consider when choosing the tent is the size ie the number of people your tent is going to house.   Take cutlery with you that is old and definitely won’t be missed if it doesn’t come home with you.   Keep cutlery separate from crockery by placing them in plastic containers with lids or in a tea towel in a plastic bag.   Here is a list of items of cutlery and crockery that may be useful for your next camping trip.  A fork, knife, teaspoon and dessert spoon should be enough for each person.     17. 20 Things you Must-Haves for Your Next RV Trailer Camping A comfy bed.  Who does not want a comfy bed on his camping trip right? This one gets the number one position on the list for it is a must that you get the best sleep and resting session for your camping. Coffee! – Everybody loves coffee, right? When camping you must have your favorite coffee with you to help you be relaxed from all your worries. Besides, does not  coffee solve everything? Like when you are sleepy or you just want a sip of it to feel energized.   Something to bake in. – This one may or may not be included in the rental RV you got but it’s nice to know ahead of time if your RV or trailer has a stove or oven for baking. To make it a more complete meal add tomatoes, onions and cold cuts or any combination of your choice before cooking.   KEBOBS--- Of all sorts are easy to make and require no pans.   If using wooden skewers, soak them in water to slow down the burning and make sure you can cook without holding by hand over the fire;  if using metal ones make sure each person has a good glove to hold it with or there is a proper handle on it. Make kebabs with wieners, smokies, sausage or meatballs.  Pre cook chicken, turkey, ham or any other meat cubes.  Use a variety of veggies such as peppers, canned taters, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc.  As it is cooking,brush with bar-b-que sauce or teriyaki sauce if so desired.   RICE--- cooked in a sleeping bag.   Take instant rice in 2 heavy duty zip lock bags.  Add slightly less than normal amount of boiling water, (it must be at a full boil), add some raisins, nuts or some cinnamon and sugar, or whatever other flavoring you desire. Zip it up tight and place in a sleeping bag. The rice will cook in about 20 minutes.  Once the rice is done, you can add cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins and nuts to make it a dessert or snack; or you can use it as a side dish by adding butter, soy sauce or canned gravy.   BREAD--- Add grated cheddar or parmesan cheese to butter, spread on bread slices (french or Italian loaves sliced thick work best) wrap in foil and put on coals or on a grate above the coals.   HOT DOGS--- are always popular but if you are tired of the usual roasts, try wrapping them in biscuit wraps and cooking them on a stick or wrap very loosely in foil and place on grate above fire for 15 to 30 minutes (time will depend on the heat of the fire and the weather. To make these more fun add cheese, onions, mustard, ketchup, pickles, bacon bits, etc. before wrapping. If using a stick, only add a little bit or the wrap will rip. SOUPS---- To tomato soup add croutons, bacon bits, cheese cubes, sliced sausage; to vegetable soups ad precooked ground beef, wienies, cheese cubes; to noodle soups add croutons, parmesan cheese, cubes of precooked beef or chicken. Outdoor events are generally challenging and demanding to the individual. As subjective as they are, they have a myriad of challenges. In fact, so many people try to have adventures but fail because they simply don’t know how to handle the scenarios. Some of the problems many of them face include confusion, many injuries, mix ups, getting lost in the bushes, and so much more.    However, since there are others who go for adventures and have lots of fun, what is wrong with this group? Well, the long answer to this is that these people don’t have a strategy on how to have the perfect adventure.  If you’re among this group however, you don’t need to worry. Here are a number of strategies to apply to ensure you have perfect outdoor adventures.   Start to plan    The importance of planning can never be overemphasized when it comes to going on outdoor adventures. It helps to know what you want to do, with what, where, with who, and at what time. However, it’s a very small group of people who actually get the importance. For you to have perfect outdoor adventures, start planning. Use a planner if possible, to ensure that everything that is required is in order.    Find essential equipment    When you go out there in the wild to have fun, a lot of things are bound to happen and this doesn’t excuse the fact that you want to get away from the ropes of technology and whatnot.  Carrying important equipment on the trip is critical because out there in the wild, you need all the help you can get. Compasses, navigation lines, new match boxes are some of the crucial things you need to have. If possible, carry an extra bag for such necessities to ensure that you don’t miss to carry a thing.    Prepare for the worst    Accidents do happen out there in the wild all the time. Things may not go as planned, sometimes by divine acts for the worst. Since you’re exposed in the wild, you need to have it in mind that something negative could happen. Depending on the adventure you’re going for, you need to be fully prepared. For example, you could park a few extra drugs, bandages, or knives for emergencies. You should also choose a few weapons because you never know.    Choose the right company    The truth is that going outdoors in the wild is fun. In fact, going outdoors to relax from the daily stresses is a lot of fun. However, if you chose ducks for this trip, then you’re going to have a duck trip whether you like it or not. Instead of selecting the worst group to travel with, consider getting more fun friends to roll with on the trip.  As a general rule, you’re more likely to have fun compared to if you choose a more reserved, boring group. All in all, it helps to have open minded people on your outdoor adventures for maximum fun. Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have it all together, especially when they’re out there in the wild? They climb mountains so fast, never get tired, sing all night, dance all night, run fastest, stand tall, look pretty in their outdoor gear…the list is endless. But, why can’t people like you push a sit up to save their necks even once?  Well, if you’re still wondering, you’re in for a rude shock because some of the finest outdoor people were not born like that. Overtime, these people acquired the survival skills that enable them to have the most adventure out there.  And rather than lift your arms in resignation, you too can get it. Here is the roadmap that will help you improve your outdoor skills.     Have an open mind    A lot of learning happens when people are open to new ideas and perspectives. In the outdoor adventure environment in particular, an open mind helps a lot. First of all, when you are out in the wild, say with a group, chance are you’ll be under someone who knows more than you. If you’re just beginning, then it’s in order for you to open yourself up to new knowledge, courtesy of these people. Simply put, sit back, watch and learn for new knowledge to unfold.    Don’t be afraid to ask    Asking questions and being asked questions is the perfect way to learn. In an outdoor environment, other adventurers will know a thing or two you don’t know. It could be a new way to light a fire, save water, fight fatigue, anything. If you improve from their outdoors adventure skills, all you have to do is ask them how they do it. You will be amazed at how many people are willing to share information with you. Take advantage of it and learn.    Read, read and keep reading    If you want to hide something from many people, simply put it in a book. Research has shown that many lack general skills for lack of interest in reading. If you want to become good at an outdoor adventure activity or routine, all you have to do is read. A lot of people share their stories of the outdoors and how they survive in books. However, note that this doesn’t mean just reading any book. A good outdoors camping book from a guru would be a good idea. A few Discovery Channel survivor books could also be in order in helping you learn the skills needed to survive out there to experience the adventures in the outdoors.    Try new things    Reading all the books in the wild, or hanging out with the outdoor crazies will not make you a better or skilled outdoor adventure person. The real skills only come when you’re out there in the wild, doing the things that should be done first hand. This means that the dormant learning was your forte, and then you have to change as soon as possible.
