Middle C sine wave is an interesting note. Good for tuning. the 'middle' is a music notation reference to its placement halfway between the treble and bass clefs. I always thought is was the exact middle note on an 88 key piano; never thought about the math until now (no middle note when there is an even number of keys). Regardless, it is a common reference in piano terminology as C major has no sharp or flat notes making it a popular key for beginning piano. I reckon A-440 is the most popular note for tuning as orchestras tune to A. C is a close runner up in the popularity contest. Middle C Sine Wave for Ten Hours - 261.6 hertz

The Pure Sine Wave series continues with E4 at 329.628hz. With the A-440 wave gaining popularity, I thought E would be a good note to add to the series. This is the same frequency as the high E string on a guitar. The guitar low E string is 82.41hz also referred to as E2. You can tune either E-string easily to this pitch. The sine wave is called pure in the sense that there are no additional harmonics to the tone. Only the fundamental frequency is present which is unlike the majority of sounds we encounter in the natural acoustic world. For this reason, the sine wave sounds a little unnatural from a listening standpoint. Comments to this effect are common among the sine wave series on the channel. Thanks for stopping by. E Sine Wave for Ten Hours - The Pure Tone Series 329.628Hz

This bike trailer was a quick design from a discarded Burley kids trailer my friend found in a dumpster. The material was removed and a plywood deck screwed to the lightweight aluminum frame. Used shelving was made into the sides which provided attachment points for the harness and other cargo carried. A doormat was added for paw traction. The trailer is lightweight and nimble. The sides fold down for transporting. I watched many dog trailer videos online and appreciate these videos which gave me the patience to train Dan for the task. Copious treats were used to get him comfortable with the trailer. By his third outing he was riding like a champ. Dan the Eski Dog prefers to ride when he is tired after walking and running for a bit. In fact, he is barking in the video because I needed to film him in the trailer and he wanted to run in the park. It all worked out when we arrived at his favorite swimming spot. This trailer is a great ebike accessory and we use it for extending our dog adventures, grocery runs and hauling cargo as well. The trailer is hardly noticeable and tracks great, even when riding on narrow trails. Great care is taken riding near posts and bollards (those road block posts at park trail entrances). I'm glad I made this trailer. And it was free. The Burley is not a cheap trailer, however, they are often discarded by parents when their kids grow up. Check around at thrift stores or bike shops. Pink Noise with a Doppler Shift for Ten Hours is an interesting variation. The Doppler was stereoscopic-ally programmed to circle the listener once every twenty seconds. The Doppler shift is the sonic phenomenon where a moving sound source appears to sound higher in pitch as it approaches and lower in pitch as it moves away from a listener. Trains, cars and bikes are common examples. You will hear the noise subtly change pitch and also circle through the stereo field left to right. What surprised me putting together this request was that a Doppler shift applied to noise sounds reminiscent of ocean waves. Naturally, the waves are approaching the listener on the beach, however, it never occurred to me how prominent this effect is with sea wave action until now. I hope you noise fans enjoy. Pink Noise Doppler Shift Dark Screen Remix for Ten Hours

Headphones Recommended! Heartbeat for Ten Hours is an actual recording of my heart resulting in astonishingly deep bass (warning). While it sounds huge on headphones or big stereos, it may not be audible on phones, tablets or laptops. It a fun challenge to record and took several attempts to get pleasing results. I had to be in a relaxed state so it was recorded in the middle of the night. Using a professional grade small diaphragm condenser microphone, I laid chest down on a foam mattress sandwiching the mic between my chest and the mattress. The bass - low frequency purity was far better than a stethoscope which I first tried attached to a contact microphone. I also tried lying on a cell phone and it was acceptable but kind of noisy. The proximity effect is in full force in this recording. That is an audio phenomenon in which bass sounds are increased in an order of magnitude when very close to a mic. (Think of a crooner singing up close on a mic). With the mic as close to the heart as possible and the chest cavity acting like a resonator, here are the results. I was able to fall asleep during the recording. It was all good until I started snoring which was removed in the final edit. :) Thanks for listening, Dale

By request, Grey Pink and Brown Noises are blended together in this ten hour ambient concoction. Pink noise has been a channel favorite with Grey and Brown (also called Red) noise also popular with the noise fans. Pink Noise is full hearing spectrum frequencies. Grey Noise s full frequency spectrum with a cut in the midrange ( like Pink with a loudness button if you are old enough to recall the loudness button on home stereos. Brown Noise is low frequency noise only with all the mids and highs drastically cut. It is sometimes known as the spaceship sound used in Sci Fi. Grey, Pink and Brown Noise Ambient Blend for Ten Hours

Noise Fans have requested more sweeping noise. The idea of sweeping the Green Noise Natural Ambience seemed like a good idea. The results are interesting sounding natural and a bit electronic. Their is a frequency boost that cycles every 30 seconds between 160Hz and 20000hz. In the same period is also a frequency filter that opens up the highs to full frequency band width, then rolls-off the highs. I messed with the filters for a long time to get to the final result. Sweeping Green Noise For Ten Hours

The ultimate twelve hour headphone burn in noise with sweeping tones is specifically designed for breaking in new headphones. Pink Noise has been a popular choice for break-in by folks here on the channel. Some believe music is a better for the task. And others say headphone burn-in is not necessary in that ongoing debate. (and will ever continue because every person has their own ears and listening perspective.) This audio design blends low frequency sweeping tones between 40 and 180 hz and several bands of noise that vary in dynamic intensity and frequency shift slowly. Low frequencies are steeply cutoff below 40 which is the bottom range of most headphones. The mid highs and highs vary while there is less midrange noise. This design is because most folks who hear a difference, and the minutes measurable differences by some manufacturers before and after breaking in seem to be in tighter lows and smoother highs with little difference in the midrange. Lullaby for 10 hours, titled Ninna Nanna, is a composition of piano and strings by Frank Micucci Ganapati and natural water ambience by dalesnale. We hope you enjoy this soothing work for relaxing, chilling at the spa, taking a nap or putting your baby to sleep. The composition sounds a thematic of the impressionistic and romantic music era composers, Franz Lizt and Claude Debussy. Of course the great composers did not make ten hour compositions like we can here with the miracle of YouTube. Frank started the process by writing the themes. These were handed off as basic music to Dale to embellish and arrange into a long-play version. The themes appear and the reappear in subtle variations in instrumentation, mix and length rather than basic repeating loop. Soft Piano Music Lullaby Ninna Nanna with Water Sounds

Snap, crackle pop for 10 hours is delightful naturally occurring sound thematic with electronically created and man made noise here on the dalesnale channel. Crackling is often associated with sound issues in audio, but in this case it is soothing with less harsh edges one might expect with electronic based crackling. Several bowls of crispy rice cereal were recorded as the sound diminishes after a few minutes. After recording an hour of source material, I edited the best parts removing the very loudest pops and other jarring moments that crossed my eardrums. These refined sample clips were then blended to created a continuous effect with a mild variation The recording approach was similar to Bacon Sizzling for Ten hours and Effervescent Tablets for Ten Hours. Any background environmental noise would be picked up, so I recorded in the middle of the night in a small booth using two AKG mics and a John Hardy microphone preamplifier which can recorded at low sound source volumes without introducing an appreciable level of electronic noise (hiss). That signal was converted to a digital signal with an Apogee professional converter into ProTools. The final audio was exported to Magix VegasPro where the video was added for the final render which took 28 hours. The 32gb final video upload in 12 hours. All in a day's ambient recording. Alka Seltzer Fizzy Noise for Ten Hours

What happens when the 3/2 rhythm is increased in speed until it sounds like pitch? You get the perfect fifth interval as depicted in this experimental musical demonstration. What is pitch? Is it really fast rhythm? What is rhythm? Is it really slow pitch? It is both of these things and fascinating. A perfect fifth interval of two music notes is also a simple 3/2 mathematical ratio.The 3/2 ratio is also a basic poly-rhythm. (Only the 2/1 ratio, the octave in pitch, is simpler.) This experiment uses 2 sawtooth waves sped up over 10 minutes to show the relationship of rhythm and pitch in the music world. Finding a way to increase the speed in a smooth and consistent manner involved experimenting with various techniques until one worked in a relatively glitch free manner over the entire rhythm and human hearing spectrum. Perfect 5th 2/3 Ratio From Rhythm to Pitch in 10 Minutes

This Purple (high frequency) Noise is by request with a frequency response between Blue and Violet Noise. It contains more highs than Blue, but less than Violet. Purple Noise is considered synonymous with Violet. I named it such because it seems a better title than Blue/Violet Noise (breaking the convention of the official noise color terminology). The noise energy is focused in the higher human listening frequency range with dynamic intensity (volume) dropping off at roughly 8dB per octave. A comparison of Blue and Violet was used to make Purple right in the middle according to my ears. There is little noise present below 2000hz. High frequency noise is used by listeners for many purposes I never dreamed of when originally posting years ago. In audio production, a tiny bit (-80 to -90dB) is often inserted into audio mixdowns to smooth out the perceived responses to the listener. This is called dither or dithering. Purple Noise is also good for testing high frequency response of speakers, to ensure tweeters and horns are functioning. Some listeners claim it smooths out the ringing in their ears.
