On this episode we sit down with Chris Akin of Webb Footed Kennel is Jonesboro, AR. Chris has been a dog trainer and waterfowl hunter for over 30 years. I followed Chris and his dog Boomer in the early 2000’s when they won the very first ESPN Great Outdoor games. Like so many others, Chris and Boomer were the reason I wanted to get my first retriever and waterfowl hunt. Chris has hunted waterfowl all over North America but explains to us why there’s nothing better than leaning up against a tree in Arkansas flooded timber. In this episode we dive into why Chris thinks timber hunting is great for a young dog and also some of his why’s behind good nutrition for his dogs.

Today on the podcast I’m joined by my friend, Bret Ayers. Bret is a fellow photographer and works as a product manager for Lucky Duck. On this episode we talk about how Bret got into the industry and the mentors he’s had along the way. I’m like an excited kid on Christmas morning as Bret describes his first hunts with a spinning wing decoy and gives some great insight on current-day motion decoy strategy.
