Old Friends From School - Ep. 104 w/ Matt Susterich

Its episode 103 It is a very weird time in the film industry right now, there has been talks about a possible strike, the Crews are trying to request better living conditions from the studio execs and they are not here to listen.     We brought IATSE Local 44 Union board members Mike Loomer and Zach Knight in to simply break down exactly what is happening in the film industry from the crews side.   We currently work 12-16 hour days average 5-6 days a week with no requirement to have a lunch break. on top of that they only need to give us 8 hours off in between shifts. These are just a few problems that the crews want to change just to make it more humane in the industry we all love and to be able to make time for our families and have a bit more of a personal life. Bill and i took our mobile studio AKA the van and decided to go to the Seqouias! accept that didnt work out so instead we drove up to big bear not realizing that most of the national forests in southern California are now closed. Considering almost all the campgrounds in that area are all national forest we had nowhere to stay we decided to go into the middle of the mojave desert where there is no national forest in site. We ended up in a big rock field known to climbers as New Jack City! Why is it called that? we dont know!   We talk about the shroom trip we just came down from, Climbing, star wars, and Bill working on a Multicam show and what the big differences are.
