Today we look at the king that God has anointed and chosen for His people - a king set up for success, with a not-so-successful story. 

Who Knows Best?

Why can't I have a normal family like everybody else?!  How often did you think that?  Maybe you still do!  In 1 Samuel 8, Israel wants a king like the nations.  They just want to be like everyone else.  We may often wish this for our families, but the strangest, most abnormal family of all is God's family, brought together by the blood of Jesus.  This Christmas, may our bond in Jesus blood guide our actions toward others.

Christmas is coming, and that means time with family. I can be enriching or exhausting! In this podcast we'll get ready for the holidays by looking at all the family problems David had, and we'll talk about how we still have those problems today. Most importantly, we'll look forward to our celebration of Jesus' birth by thinking about how the Gospel speaks to our own complicated family dynamics.
