The word gospel as a noun means 'a good message.' When used as a verb it means 'to announce good news.' So the gospel of Jesus Christ is the good message of Jesus Christ. When one shares the gospel, they are announcing the good news of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. The gospel that was taught in the New Testament and today is the life, blood, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

FCS1-1-01 The Good News of Jesus Christ - The Gospel

The actions of Christians glorify God when motivated by their faith in God. Deeds done as a result of pride, self-service or of obligation are not spiritually rewarding and do not give glory to Him. The works of godly faith promote actions that not only glorify God, they also bear spiritual fruit.

God’s love and grace were manifested in His Son Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful gift from God that He gave His Son Jesus to be the way unto eternal life for all mankind. Not only does Jesus bless mankind by bringing them back to God, He gave Christians a personal ministry to draw those that are lost unto eternal life also.

FCS1-1-19 Eternal Life is a gift

From the beginning, after man sinned in the garden, God removed Adam and Eve from the garden to prevent them from partaking of the tree of life and living forever. This is the curse of sin that has stained all mankind and furthermore, eternal life has been guarded ever since. Jesus, the Son of God, has come to redeem mankind back to God by removing sin and granting eternal life.

FCS1-1-18 Is Salvation Eternal?

This judgment will be very personal. Everyone will give account of themselves for the deeds recorded during their life. God’s people, who live every day in His Word, have His judgment alive in their lives, ministering to their hearts and conscience with Godly conviction.

FCS1-1-17 Personal Judgment

There is coming a day when all mankind throughout the generations will give account to God for all things they did in their lives. This notable day has been called 'Judgment Day' or 'Day of Judgment' in the scriptures. This judgment will be final and without appeal. The Lord Jesus Christ will be the judge that reckons every soul by God’s Word. God has given all authority to Christ to judge mankind because, when as a man in the flesh, He was without sin. He was tempted in all like manner as every human was, but always chose righteousness over the lusts of the flesh.

FCS1-1-16 Day of Judgment

When a person is a partaker of salvation, a new way of life is born within them. They are no longer partaking in the sinful ways of their old life old man prior to their salvation; they live a life of ministry and righteousness before God.

FCS1-1-15 Newness of Life in Christ Jesus

Outside of Christ Jesus (John 3:16-18), there is no other faith that promises us salvation from sin and eternal life. For mankind, the only reconciliation from the consequences of sin is Christ Jesus (John 14:6). Christ, our Messiah, became mankind’s only way back to the promise of eternal life after man was separated by sin in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:22-24). Jesus was, and still is, the only way that brings salvation and eternal life to the world. His sacrifice on the cross is for the reconciliation of mankind back to God by the remission of sins (Colossians 1:20). The blood that Christ shed at His death on the cross is the blood of the New Testament (Hebrews 9:12-15). Therefore, to obtain eternal life with God, every soul must apply the sacrificial blood of Christ Jesus to his or her own life (Romans 6:3-5).

FCS1-1-14 Baptism – The Application of Christ Jesus

It is through the good works of faith that unbelieving people can see God in this world. The God they see in the lives of faithful Christians, is part of a godly Christian testimony. Therefore, all should take heed of their actions and reactions in this life: lost souls may be judging the God we serve by how we serve Him.

FCS1-1-13 Testimony of Good Works

When actions are truly rooted in the Christian faith, Christ is represented in all that is said and done. Faith motivates a person to action through desire, conviction and spiritual leading. Their faith is motivating actions from within them, becomes evident in their actions. This action (or work) is seen by God and by people as a testimony to the things that motivated them, thus giving glory to God by their good works.

FCS1-1-11 Faith Compels Good Works

Adam and Eve sinned against the commandment of God at the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. God’s penalty was to drive them from the Garden of Eden to prevent them from eating of the tree of life and living forever with sin.

FCS1-1-02 Fall of Mankind into Sin

A person has their sins remitted once when they are saved. Jesus died once to bring the remission of sins that are past (Romans 3:25). A person is joined with Christ once when they are planted together with Him in the likeness of His death. This is the receiving of Christ's shed blood (at His death) and the rising of Christ within them unto newness life.

In the Old Testament, salvation and eternal life were considered for the Jews only. In the New Testament, the salvation gift has been extended toward all mankind. Mankind has been held captive by sin ever since the Fall. The power of sin over people’s lives has been broken by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. We are dead to sin because we are alive in Christ. We still have sinful desires because of our flesh, but because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we have the power (by the Holy Spirit) to repent and turn away from dead works and live as new creatures in Christ.

FCS1-1-08 Repentance for Mankind

We, as humans, need God’s grace in our lives to be saved from His wrath. Just as God has given grace to us, we need to extend His grace through our lives to each other. It is by God’s grace that we can love one another.

FCS1-1-07 All Mankind needs the Grace of God
