Seed on the Path

This sermon begins our Lenten series titled "Tilling the Soil."  In this series we will be looking at the Parable of the Sower found in Luke 8:4-15.  As we walk through this season of pastoral transition in our church do we have fertile soil for The Gardener to come and plant new seeds?  

Tilling the Soil: Introduction

Using the Israelites in Joshua 1:1-9 as our example, let's remember to be faithful to the Lord and his church in our season of change. 

Crossing the Jordan: Keeping the Faith

In their moment of transition, Moses gives the Israelites some final words of wisdom before entering the promised land.  These words are found in Deuteronomy 30:15-20.  In our own season of transition we have a choice to make: Will we choose to surrender and trust God or will we cling to our own idols?

Although it is hard to face this new season, we can face it with excitement and anticipation trusting the Lord has good things ahead.  2 Samuel 7:1-11 and Romans 16:25-27

God Beyond Walls

Looking at Matthew's story of Jesus' birth in Matthew 1:18-25 we see how Jesus comes as a fulfillment of prophecy.  We do not have to be afraid because God is in control; his plan for salvation comes to fruition in the arrival of Emmanuel.  God is with us.
