But finding those people can be challenging. Fortunately when Travis Gardner had an idea, he knew that his buddy Ryan Flanders could help create a unique business. Almost a decade later, I sat down with Travis Gardner and Ryan Flanders both co-owners of Kombustion Motorsports in Salt Lake City, and had the opportunity to learn about the only side by side shop of its kind in the Salt Lake Valley. This shop is the place to visit for all of your side by side needs and desires. I have really enjoyed learning more and more about how to be discovered in this digital world. In the beginning I did not believe that I needed social media and that everybody in the world would find my podcast and it would be an overnight success.... That still has not happened.  However I came across an ad on Instagram that featured a gentleman that is reaching out to athletes and others that want to grow in their world. Aaron Fraser kindly accepted the offer when I reached out to be a guest on the show. This episode could not have come at a better time. I have met a good handful of people in my lifetime. There are many that stick out as a majority of the guests I had on the show do. This guest however is different, and I am excited to share his story with you! Josh Knight is the kind of guy that if you needed a shirt, he would take the one off of his back and give it to you. He is that genuine kind and humble individual we all need in our lives. From a humble happy life, Josh shares his passion for the sport and opens a new door to the podcast.  Josh is not one to brag about his success but he has achieved multiple wins in multiple races. He loves this sport! He has participated and qualified to race what is known as the Olympics of Enduro called Internation Six Days Enduro. With the team USA Josh has brought home 3 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal. That is a great accomplishment for USA! Finding riders like Josh is always exciting. At young ages, these guys have so much experience and knowledge, which they can share and coach others to be successful. One sport within the industry gets mixed attention. A majority of fans in the segment of FMX only get to know big names that compete at events like X Games or Nitro Circus World Games. But FMX is not as popular as Supercross or Motocross. Fan base is smaller and more concentrated. Non the less, this part of the industry is still growing and quite popular among dirt bikers and non dirt bikers alike. FMX is just entertaining. Jesse James Morales reached out to record an episode. I was more than happy to do so. Seeing how he lived in Texas, we would have to record over the phone, which is not the most ideal way to record podcast episodes. We were finally able to pick a date and time, then began our session. I was taken away with the value Jesse brings to the table as a professional rider. In this episode, you will find that there is more training than just regular physical. Jesse desires to break a world record and he tells us that it is a mental game that needs to be thought out thoroughly or things could go very wrong. When we are going into adulthood, we tend to think we need to have it all figured out. Arguably we are told that we should have it figured out by influencers and sometimes even our own parents. This can be very frustrating especially if we do not know what we want to do, or who we want to be. Ryan grew up on a dirt bike like so many other great athletes. However his career on a bike came to a stop after a divorce between his parents. He then picked up BMX biking with some friends and crushed it at the park. The thing is about a dirt bike though, you cannot escape the feeling you get twisting the throttle and sending it down a trail, through a whoop section, up and over a rock, or up a gnarly sand mountain. That feeling cannot be replaced, and such was the case for Ryan. After getting back on a bike, riding and racing, Ryan found himself working at a shop helping others fix up their own bikes or prepping them for races. After so many individuals requesting his help personally to prepare for their races, Ryan decided to give training sessions a try. That was when he fell in love with serving others and creating a business around training others to succeed.

Basically when you meet somebody that you can respect for the way that they have achieved success, you can't help to think "Maybe I can do that too"! Meeting Kate was very inspiring. She is crushing it in her industry and helping so many athletes and professionals achieve their goals and dreams. This episode I decided to give live streaming a shot. So while I was recording a live stream on Facebook, I hooked up the mic and recorded an episode as well for those that missed it! This pandemic of Covid-19 is kicking butt in not such a good way for so many people. It is causing so many people to lose jobs or work from home (the working from home part isn't so bad). But jobs are being lost due to shut downs of facilities, food providers have to shorten their staff, grocery stores are being emptied of supplies like TP (bizarre) and so much more. My heart goes out to all of those affected in such a negative way during this time. There have been 5 topics on my mind in the recent weeks. A fairly new sport has been created just over 10 years ago. UTV racing is still in its infancy but it is gaining traction as more people go to dealerships and purchase new side by sides. Chris Gilmore of Gilmore Racing changed from racing dirt bikes to racing RZRs a few years back which opened huge opportunities and sponsorship to help him win races. In this episode I sat down with Chris and he helped me understand what it was like to be sponsored by Polaris and the advantages given to him through their support. 3 things that I took away from this episode: #1 When you are wanting sponsorships or you already have sponsorships, alway be on your best behaviour because you are the face of that company. #2 Experience pays off. The more seat time you get, the better you become. #3 Be confident. Chris is very confident in his knowledge of racing and in his machine. He explained like so many others that you have to know your machine and be confident in its abilities so you can push them to their limits for success.

When you finally get to meet a member of a group that you have always dreamed about meeting finally happened!! I sat down with DJ after a few weeks of getting both of our schedules to finally cooperate. I first met DJ at the Utah Snowmobile Expo in October and heard about his awesome business guiding others in the back country on snowmobiles and dirt bikes. He has gained special permission from the Government and received more passes each operating year to guide many amazing adventures with people from all around the world. Way to go! DJ is more well known in his role with the Nitro Circus crew. He has been featured on a few episodes and in the movie. He is well known for his great video editing abilities which have landed him great opportunities and even the introduction to the Nitro crew. "Don't give up!" That is the theme of Sam Oldham's life. At a young age Sam always wanted a dirt bike. Fast forward 20 plus years and he is making that dream a reality. Creating content that will help the future of the industry, Sam is at the front breaking down the barrier between gas motors and electric bikes. While he is hustling in the industry, he also works on other business, each one that helps him grow every single day.  As we chase our dreams, we are reminded that we live in a time where instant gratification is the norm. Unfortunately out of the less than 1% that become over night superstars, the rest of us will have to hustle for years to reach our dreams. The struggle is real! But with help and tips from professionals like Sam, we can find success in our lives, no matter how small they may seem. Let's all be like Sam and strive to live our dreams!

I've personally known Zak for over a decade. He is one of those guys that is naturally talented on a bike or a sled and honestly whatever sport he tries, he has the ability to excel quickly. It took about a year to get out schedules to line up but I was finally able to sit down and record an episode with him. If you are unfamiliar with Boondockers Film, the videos are of the previous snowmobile season and are filled with big cliff drops, big kickers (jumps), and as the title states, boondocking. Each member of the film has a different set of skills. But they all are driven to be as successful as possible in the backcountry. These guys work hard so they can play hard!

A new lesson was learned in this episode. Motorsports does not only encompass street bikes, dirt bikes, utv, atv, snowmobiles, or jet skis. It encompasses all motor racing. In fact Oxford dictionary states: "[Motorsports] A sport involving the racing of motor vehicles, especially cars and motorcycles."  Sitting down with these two female racers was an incredible experience. Both bring so much value to the industry. Sarah started out with a different dream but when those dreams did not realize, she moved into motorsports, and we are glad she did! She raised her now 18 year old daughter in the industry and now they compete head to head in Off-Road Trucks!
