In this episode, we speak to Ruban Das, General Manager of Hilton Chennai on how the hotel stayed open throughout 2020 by aligning with the government’s Vande Bharat repatriation mission. This foresight helped it average 53% occupancy last year, which is almost 25% above the city’s average.&nbsp;However, not all was hunky dory. For starters, Hilton Chennai saw its share of manpower right-sizing.&nbsp;Das tells us how the hotel trained its existing workforce to multi-task across all departments in a bid to reduce costs and improve its bottom line. And how the hotel is tapping new revenue opportunities since corporate travel is off the table for now.
