Episode 12: The Hugh Jass Return

Wrapping up the previous 4 rounds of the F1 Season, which saw a "new" world champion crowned and a Ferrari team that seems to be on the brink of civil war. We discuss what we think makes Lewis Hamilton tick, what Ferrari have to do to sort out their driver management problem, and wonder if Alex Albon is really deserving of a prime Red Bull seat.

The HJPP team return from their summer break to unpack the events in the most recent rounds of the 2019 F1 championship, in which we witnessed a resurgence in performance from Ferrari, a driver swap at Red Bull, and continued shenanigans at Haas. The interview segment sees us catch up with HJ member Ryan Verhulst, who took a trip to Monza for the 2019 Italian GP, and shares his feedback from how to enjoy a trip to an F1 race.

Following a team trip to the ChampCar race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, we reminisce on an excellent weekend of racing and camaraderie. We discuss the British GP and all the excitement and drama that caused, including what the future may hold for Sebastian Vettel. The interviewee for this episode is Tom Ellison, one of the hosts, as his co-presenters turn their questions towards one of their own.

All the fallout from the contentious Austrian GP, as we discuss whether the FIA finally got a decision correct. There is an update to the ChampCar entry for the race at the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our guest for this week is the HJ tame racing driver Jeff Tyler, who gives his views on how to approach amateur motorsport. Our guest is Evan Merrill, who tells us about his adventures amateur ice racing in the wilds of upstate New York.

Following the controversial Canadian Grand Prix, the team get together to discuss the rights and wrongs of the FIA rulebook, and all other good or bad drives in Montreal. Andrew is very excited for Le Mans, and doesn't care who knows it. Our guest is Floridaman Justin Hall, who will tell us all about his Autocross experiences, and how this hobby offers an affordable route into motorsport for all enthusiasts.

Episode 1: The Hugh Jass Pilot

Formed in 2015, Team Hugh Jass got their start competing in online endurance events through the iRacing simulation platform. Since then they have expanded rapidly, competing in multiple events, launching a broadcast channel, running the ChampCar Sim Series, and racing their own Miata in endurance races around the USA. Hugh Jass Paddock Pass is the latest venture, a biweekly podcast where members of the team get together to discuss the latest news in global motorsport, updates from their own racing adventures, and interviews with members of the team and listeners.
