He discusses the controversy surrounding the MHSAA team championships and the team's success in the individual finals. Jeremy and Brendan weighed in on the MHSAA hockey and basketball playoffs before they were cancelled in things to watch (26:45).

Episode 14: Winter Sports Wrap Up

Jeremy and Brendan remember John Goddard (1:27). Top Things was tough to crack this week but the fellas narrowed it down to Catholic Central wins another state championship (3:19), new head football coach at De La Salle (5:47), CHSL boys basketball championships (9:37) and University Liggett improbable MHSAA state tournament hockey run (16:54). “Since 1926” gets us ready for spring as they look back at current Tiger and former Divine Child standout Eric Haase (19:47). No show is complete without an interview. Jeremy interviewed BCAM Mr. Basketball finalists Lorne Bowman II of St. Mary’s Prep just prior to Operation Friendship (21:41). The show is wrapped up with “Things to Watch” this week (33:40).

Episode 13: Nearing the end of Winter sports

Jeremy and Brendan interview a number of guests on the concourse of Calihan Hall. They start off with Catholic High School League Hall of Fame Official Mike Dempsey (3:17). Dempsey shares stories of Calihan and gives his perspective on the current state of officiating. The fellas then interviewed Catholic Central varsity basketball coach Brandon Sinawi for his opinion of the Bishop Championship game (4:49). Brendan then interviews former Cardinal Mooney stand out Daniel Everhart about how it was to play at Mooney (12:01). Final interview of the day is with Bishop Foley boys' varsity basketball Matt Stefani for his insight on the upcoming Cardinal Championship game (18:18). Finally Jeremy and Brendan give their predictions of the two championship games.

Episode 12: Live from Calihan Hall

Too make the list of J & B’s top things was tough this week (2:41). Girls Basketball championships (2:45), Boys Basketball tournament conversation (6:53) and Bowling championships (9:55) did make the cut. “Since 1926” looks back at Catholic Central’s hockey player David Moss (12:43). Following up with hockey talk, Jeremy interviews MHSAA hockey expert Sean Baligian to preview the MHSAA tournament. Sean did not pick all CHSL teams to win the state titles (14:25). Show wraps up with “What to Watch” (36:21). Jeremy and Brendan give a quick rundown of everything happening over the next five days, including our Live from Calihan show.

Episode 11: February Excitement

So many highlights but only a few could break through to make J & B’s Top things. CC hockey shutouts Livonia Stevenson (1:30), Brother Rice wins wrestling district (3:27), Loyola’s basketball star Mayberry’s performance against Lutheran North (4:49), MHSAA scholar athlete Brother Rice’s DJ Dixon (7:00) and U of D Jesuit’s hockey team is on a roll (8:59) made the final cut. “Since 1926” looks back at Keisha Kelly from Benedictine High School (12:50). Brendan interviews Catholic High School League Hall of Fame coach from Marian High School, Mary Cicerone (14:12). Girls Basketball Championship preview (23:55), Boys Basketball tournament preview and St. Mary’s Prep, Lorne Bowman, chances at the title of Mr. Basketball (32:51).

Episode 10: Celebration

Episode 9: February Frenzy

How would Jeremy and Brendan fair on the slopes? After a few moments it’s concluded that it wouldn’t go well. Pom Pon and Ski championships lead off “Top Things” (2:15). Former St. Martin DePorres coach Greg Carter inducted into Michigan High School Football Hall of Fame (4:15) and Cardinal Mooney’s Nolan Julio on a hot streak (7:45) round out the segment. Legendary Dave DeBusschere is featured in “Since 1926” this week (11:00). Brendan enters the cave with Aaron Babicz, Athletic Director at Detroit Catholic Central, for a pep talk. The guys wrap the show up with “Things to Watch” which include wrestling championships (25:30), CHSL football schedule preview (28:25) and a preview of MHSAA basketball tournament (30:21).

Episode 8: Here's Another One

National Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year, Jess Mruzik, leads J & B’s Top Things (1:15). Also making the list is parody in Boys Basketball AA division (2:45), St. Mary’s Prep baseball team nationally ranked (5:05), Riley Blair scores 1,000 points (6:50) and Cranbrook Kingswood Boys Ice Hockey coach, Andy Weidenbach, wins national award (8:27). Since 1926 takes us back to high school playing days of Brother Rice’s D.J. LaMahieu (11:25). Lily McClafferty, Academy of the Sacred Heart senior hockey player, calls in to have a conversation with Jeremy (13:15). Jeremy & Brendan reflect on a few things to watch and that it feels like the calm before the storm (22:25).

Episode 7: Calm before the Storm

J & B Top things include top freshman boys basketball players in the state (3:30), U of D Jesuit hockey (6:40), Gabriel Richard over Cardinal Mooney in boys basketball (8:40), Bishop Foley girls basketball team on a roll (11:30) and St. Mary’s Prep over U of D Jesuit in boys hoops (13:45). Miss Volleyball 2009 is this week’s “Since 1926” (17:35). Archdiocese of Detroit Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Kevin Kijewski, calls in to talk to Brendan (20:00). Finally, things to watch are rematches in girls basketball [Bishop Foley vs Lakes and Mercy vs Marian], Pom Championships and a few other things (37:20).

Episode 6: The Superintendent is on the line

Jeremy and Brendan breakdown the previous week which included Mercy’s win over Marian in basketball (2:35) UD beating Brother Rice in swim (5:05), and Detroit Tigers acquiring Divine Child’s own Eric Haase. Since 1926 looks at the career of Bishop Borgess legend Shawn Respert (10:30). Then Jeremy has a chance to talk to Brent Stanley, three sport varsity at De La Salle (12:34). No show is complete without the fellas sharing what they believe are the “Things to Watch”. This week it included a lot of baseball, St. Mary’s Prep baseball team, swimming match-up and announcing next week’s guess (20:30).

Jeremy and Brendan are back for 2020 running down their “Top Things”; Cristo Rey boys’ basketball (4:45), St. Mary’s Prep basketball (6:01) and few other items. Since 1926 segment looks at CHSL Hall of Fame ’77 coach Sue Kruszewski. Brian Hassler, AD at Bishop Foley, is in studio for a conversation about Catholic Athletes for Christ and Foley’s MLK shootout (14:13). Finally, Jeremy and Brendan suggest a few things to watch for this coming week (27:00).

Episode 4: Happy 2020

Calihan Challenge (2:45), St. Mary’s Prep basketball (4:30), CC’s Super Dual (5:14) and Greenhills Girls Basketball (7:15) made J & B’s Top Things. Tyronee “Tiger” Bussey II is remembered in the segment “Since 1926” (11:07). The guys are joined by Lindsey Noble, Shrine Girls Basketball Coach, for a great conversation about hoops and faith (13:11). Finally, things to watch are UD Jesuit (21:35) and De La Salle (25:50) basketball teams. Merry Christmas and hope come back on January 10.

J & B are joined by Detroit Catholic Central Hockey captain Kyle Gaffney to discuss CC’s hockey championship and how his faith assists him in hockey.
