The gunmen took the seven people present hostage in the office before shooting them and setting the place on fire. Despite over a thousand tips, the case remains unsolved today. In October 2000, a predator began preying on college students at Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. It would take over eight years and thirteen attacks between Manhattan and Lawrence before authorities would declare there was a serial rapist on the loose.
