Jackie Durant is the Executive Director of HOPE City Redding, a non-profit organization providing community-based programs that champion Restorative Justice practices.   Jackie’s heart for restorative justice originated during her years as a practitioner for drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in Northern California. Having worked with both victims and offenders in the criminal justice system, Jackie has learned that reconciliation between individuals involved in an incident is a critical pre-requisite for successful healing and rehabilitation of all persons.   As a Restorative Justice Practitioner, Jackie believes that trauma, crime and wrongdoing cause harm / injustice; and the fruit of justice should be healing and restoration for all involved stakeholders.    By applying empathetic insight through teaching and program development, she empowers HOPE City to teach our community tools in empathy and understanding to help them live a life in freedom and wholeness. Through Jackie’s leadership and passion to teach, HOPE City offers curriculum and programs to teach people tools to practice empathy and restore healing and wholeness to all those seeking justice in their community.

In this installment of the Justice Collective podcast we sit down with a friend of ours who has a unique platform and place of influence within the government sphere.  Her role directly intersects with the faith element of culture while directly serving the government of her locale.  We are not using this leader’s name simply to not create any undo backlash for her and the work she’s doing.  This was a very inspiring interview to conduct.  I was so encouraged to hear the things Jesus is doing amidst government leaders in the international landscape.

 Jessika Tate is a itinerate speaker, an author (her first book will be released soon), a shameless coffee addict, as well as the founder of Yielded Ministries. She has a clear voice to a generation that wants to be engaged in social change . She now lives in Brazil where she teaches in a ministry college, does itinerate ministry and works with our Yielded projects. She is a change agent that the Lord has greatly used in the governmental sphere .Her advocacy and other initiatives are almost countless in the 37 years she has served in this arena.She is also the founder of HART (Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust). We also got Dr SaSa from Health and Hope who has brought transformation to Burma - Myanmar with multiple health care initiatives.
