Annnd, we’re back! We are so excited to announce that Last Night at The Carlyle has finally returned for a third season. On today’s first episode of 2020, Sara and Matthew welcome Erik Davis, Managing Editor of Fandango (which is celebrating 20 years btw), to chat Oscar predictions and what movies to watch for in the coming year. From their thoughts on all the nominees and films from 1917 to Parasite to Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, you do not want to miss this prior to the golden statues being handed out this coming Sunday. Then, we enjoy a glass of bubbly and chat all things Champagne with Didier Mariotti of Veuve Clicquot. Didier holds the impressive designation as the House’s eleventh Cellar Master and guardian of the House’s spirit. Listen to them discuss how Champagne is made, what foods are best to pair (Truffle Fries? Oysters?) and why you should be drinking it out of a white wine glass and not a flute. Last Night At The Carlyle

Episode 1: "Oscars, Bubbles & Beyond"

Sara and Matthew are ringing in the holiday season with the founders of Beaumont Etiquette, Myka Meier & Anne Chertoff, to give us all a little brush-up on our bar, table, and party etiquette. Myka and Anne also let us in on the best kept etiquette secrets when it comes to dating, tipping, toasting, and the answer to why the millennials are selling out their much-buzzed about formal dining classes.

Episode 5: "Holiday Etiquette & Toasting No-Nos"

On this week’s episode, Sara and Matthew sit down with legendary singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and record producer, Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers & Steely Dan). Hear him chat about his first Café Carlyle residency, the courage of playing solo and what it’s like to play acoustically in a small venue while jamming with musician John Pizzarelli. Michael also humbly discusses how he found his musical talent as a young child while playing his grandmother’s piano and singing “Love is a Many Splendored Thing” with his father. Hear him also wax poetic about the magic of New Orleans and how music and the arts are what truly make us all human.

Episode 4: "You Don't Know Me, But I'm Your Brother!"

On today’s episode, Sara sits down to chat with The Carlyle’s Chef Concierge extraordinaire, Waldo Hernandez. Hear him discuss his passion for The Carlyle and the guests that stay there, what’s happening in the city right now – from the top New York hot spots  (newcomer Frenchette to old-standby the Polo Bar)  to the latest Broadway buzz (he’s seen Hamilton seven times) and he’ll also share a surprise announcement too. Waldo will also discuss how former Carlyle concierge, Dwight Owsley, taught him so much when he arrived at the hotel. We will also hear from Dwight himself and listen to him impart some of the knowledge he gained over his 36 year tenure at The Carlyle and the concierge philosophy of  “friendship through service.”

Episode 3: "The Concierge Club"

We'd like to take a moment to formally introduce ourselves to our listeners and also reveal how the "Last Night at The Carlyle" podcast originated. Sara Gore & Matthew Miele interview each other and Earl Rose finally takes a break from the piano to tell us a little bit about himself! Plus, our producer, Jennifer Cooke chimes in how she got to the Carlyle along with a surprise guest from the "Always at The Carlyle" documentary just being released in the UK today!

Welcome back to Season Two of Last Night at The Carlyle! We are so excited to kick-off the Fall Season with two funny & talented ladies - Jane Lynch (Hollywood Game Night, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Glee) & Kate Flannery (Meredith from The Office). Listen to Jane & Kate chat with Sara and Matthew about their Chicago beginnings, their current Cafe Carlyle run (aka like the Rat Pack with a couple of broads) ...and of course, their new found love for The Carlyle and elevator operators. They also discuss how Hollywood Game Night found its infamous start, binging and purging TV shows, and learning yiddish.

Gina Gershon took a break from her two week residency in the Cafe Carlyle, strolled into Bemelmans Bar, and talked us up about tequila, Prince, U2, "Cocktail", sleeping till the afternoon & why wild women don't get the blues! Might have something to do with "goin' hard"?  Catch her at the Cafe before her residency is up this Saturday. 

Episode 13: "Goin' Hard with Gina Gershon!"

The “Last Night at The Carlyle” podcast is a weekly broadcast hosted by NBC personality, Sara Gore and filmmaker, Matthew Miele. Each show will feature a 30-45 minute interview with a signature personality. Whether a Hollywood celebrity, best-selling author, sports figure, recording artist, politician, or business titan, The Carlyle presents an endless array of characters. Each podcast will also feature an interview excerpt from the hotel’s upcoming documentary, Always at The Carlyle, that was filmed over the past four years and will be released theatrically this Spring.
