Children, Obey Your Parents

God commands the husband to love his wife, seeking and serving her needs more than his own. The Lord allows no place for anger or harshness toward the wife but only gracious, loving action on her behalf.

Husbands, Love Your Wives

Christians must submit to one another, and Christian wives especially must submit to their husbands. This inner quality or mindset of submission magnifies the beauty of the woman and contributes to the success of the marriage as it pictures the relationship of Christ and the church.

Wives, Be Subject

First Corinthians 6-9-11 affirms judgment for the unrighteous while also confirming justification, sanctification, and washing for those who are in Christ. In other words, the gospel changes penitent sinners and conforms them to Christlikeness. This is not always a once-and-done deliverance- it normally requires a daily repentance of thought, desire, and practice.

Love for God and love for others should characterize a believer's life. It is a foundational virtue as Christians imitate God grow to be more like Christ.

We all sin and are sinned against. In love we must cover sin by bearing with one another and graciously forgiving each other, just as God has done to us through Christ.

Graciously Forgiving

Strife and enmity plague human relationships, but Christ makes it possible for us to live at peace. Because God has shown mercy and love to us, we can do the same to one another.

Put on a Heart of Compassion

God has graciously and lovingly chosen to save some who would justly be condemned under His just wrath. Those who have been saved are to live transformed lives in Christ.

As the Elect of God

The believer's new identity in Christ changes everything. Barriers of ethnicity, religious works, culture, education, social status-these are all irrelevant in relation to knowing Christ and being made more like Him.
