Boyd served the Lord in ministry for more than 50 years, and this message was preached during his 18-year tenure as pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He went home to be with the LORD in 1991. Sadly, this type of sober biblical preaching concerning repentance is nigh extinct today in America. REPENTANCE is not an offer or a suggestion. Neither is is a bit of good advice from the Lord. It is GOD’S ULTIMATUM, and “except ye repent, he shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3,5).

The entire sermon was an introduction to Revelation 21 concerning the expectation and hope of the believer that does not and cannot die with him. This particular clip concerns vaccines and masks as matters of conscience to be carefully weighed amongst believers. As Martin Luther said, “to go against one’s conscience is neither wise nor safe.”

This 13-minute clip is taken from a larger exegetical sermon preached from Revelation 20. The direct democracy touted as fashionable today was seen by our Founding Fathers as an EVIL, for popular democracy means that the leadership of a nation can turn on the dime of a mob. And we are seeing that transpire right before our eyes. The United States of America was not founded as a direct democracy but as a constitutional republic. Yet today, alas, there are mobs on both sides of the political aisle in a tug-of-war of unrighteousness tearing this nation apart. History and human nature teach us how to fix all this garbage, but nobody learns. NOBODY LISTENS! The same alarm bells were raised by faithful preachers in America in the 1850s, the last time our country was this divided, but nobody listened. We don’t need another President, we need the Messiah. We don’t need more democracy, we need the coming THEOCRACY under the Lord Jesus Christ. And it is coming. All will be made right. It’s almost comical that all the Covid-19 chaos and the #BLM madness broke forth just a few weeks after these words were spoken. Fallen humanity is so predictable, and a nation which has turned it back upon God can only stumble around in the darkness.

This snort snippet was the introduction of a longer exegetical teaching on Revelation 20:6-7. Though avoided like a plague in most American pulpits, BIBLE PROPHECY is important and can be understood. Moreover, it proves that in Christ Jesus the Messiah, we have a DISTANT HOPE that lightens even the darkest of times. Our distant hope in the Messiah is of far more value than anything a politician or an election can bring to our table. Yet sadly, America, along with many of its churches, is looking to the wrong source, vain political sources, for its hope. And all the while, wickedness abounds.
