Everyone loves a bit of magic, specially magic numbers. The Preds look to bring their magic number down from seven to zero so they can clinch a spot in the playoffs. Magic Number

The Preds have defied the odds. In just a few short weeks, they are now looking claim the final playoff spot in the Central Division and be playoff contenders. For this to happen, they have to hold off the Stars and Blackhawks who are looking for that final spot as well. Almost halfway through the season, the Preds will need a miracle to make the playoffs. Trade rumors abound Forsberg despite assurances from David Poile the franchise forward is not going to be traded. It's time for work to be done before the trade deadline though, as the Poile needs to accept this team is mediocre at best.With injuries mounting, the youth movement is getting a chance to shine. The one good thing this season has finally brought us is Eeli Tolvanen.
