Clap Your Hands, Shout, and Sing Praises to the Lord

Count it ALL joy. Wow! This seems virtually impossible. A word that has been interchanged with count is the word consider. To consider it an opportunity for great joy is to think ahead or to look ahead. When there are tests and trials and heart wrenching struggles, there is room for God to move. Counting it all joy or considering it an opportunity for great joy is looking ahead to a better day. It's saying, “If I’m this low now, just think about how high God can elevate the circumstances of my life.” In the midst of our trials, we have the gift of looking ahead to the joy of watching God work it for good. We can watch Him settle a situation or reverse circumstances. We can watch Him wipe the slate clean. If He did it before, He can do it again. "God, I need Your help. Settle my thoughts and help me to learn to live above my circumstances." If it's not one thing, it's another. I believe that God wants to use me through prayer and encouragement through my hard times to encourage others. Yes, God's Word is enough all by itself, but we must also know how to practically make it through this journey; applying that Word to our individual circumstances. It (life, that is) is really hard sometimes and I believe that we need to honestly express that so that others will know that, "Hey, I'm not alone. She's a follower of Christ or he's a follower of Christ, but yet they have struggles, too. So, how do they make it through? What's different about them? What do they hold on to in times of distress?"
