Amid the announcement of an FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball, the NCAA established a group called the Commission on College Basketball in October 2017. Led by former secretary of state and Stanford provost, Condoleezza Rice, the commission was to address ongoing issues in the sport. Some say the report, which was finally released two weeks ago, did little to address the true issues that have caused corruption in college basketball. On April 10, the FBI released new documents that show how a former N.C. State coach and a former N.C. State player were involved in its ongoing investigation into corruption in college basketball. "North Carolina Central University (NCCU) remains committed to the academic success of all our students including student-athletes who were part of the women’s basketball team during the 2017-2018 season but who will not be returning next year. The university has reallocated resources for the seven students who are not graduating in May to continue and complete their education at North Carolina Central University. NCCU will provide scholarships and other funding to support each academically qualified student as she matriculates through her respective undergraduate degree program."
