Last week, I reported on the greenwashing phenomenon as criminal fraud perpetrated by the public relations industry on behalf of big fossil fuel and the banks that fund them. This week, I will focus on the greenwashing being done by alleged 'objective' economists. As it turns out, these economists are anything but--objective. And, why would they be? They are often paid by big fossil fuel. This is a perfect example of academicians selling out and the damage they do to all of us.  This report is based on an academic paper written by Benjamin Franta titled: Weaponizing economics: Big Oil, economic consultants, and climate policy delay. EJR with Jeanine Molloff - Greenwashing Fraud Committed by Economists

This week on our Sunday report, Jeanine will cover the ongoing saga of yet another Republican Governor who eagerly seeks to abuse power. Missouri Governor Mike Parson is seeking criminal charges of 'hacking' against St. Louis Post-Dispatch journalist Josh Renaud. Renaud wrote a piece exposing a major data security risk involving the Social Security numbers of some 100,000 Missouri teachers. The journalist contacted the Missouri DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) to alert them to this issue. He also withheld publication of the piece until the site was taken down. The data security issue was found in the HTML code which is not encrypted. No one would have known of this dangerous exposure is this reporter had not pursued this story.  Now Governor Parson is demanding criminal prosecution of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter and any others who assisted in developing this story. Parson is accusing them of 'hacking' though the governor clearly has no idea what he is talking about.  The DESE Commissioner Margie Vandeeven has limited comment on this issue.  Come join us.  Jeanine

This week on Progressive News Network, Jeanine will discuss the gross miscarriage of justice taking place in Missouri right now. Death Row inmate Ernest Johnson is scheduled to be executed this Tuesday by lethal injection. He was convicted of three grisly murders, yet the evidence also implicates an accomplice who was at the scene as well. That accomplice took a deal with the prosecutor to testify against Ernest Johnson in return for being spared the death penalty.  What has concerned a multitude of advocacy groups is the plain fact that Ernest Johnson is IDD (Intellectually & Developmentally Disabled). Some disability experts estimate his communication skills at the level of a 5-year-old child. The Supreme Court ruled those persons with intellectual disabilities are to be spared the death penalty, yet the Missouri Supreme Court, the prosecutors in the case, and the community at large don't care.  One last thing--Ernest Johnson is a black man and the murder victims were white. Add to this toxic stew that this took place in rural Missouri---and you have a perfect storm for a lynch mob mentality.  Governor Mike Parson has the power to set aside the execution and relinquish Ernest to life in prison, and members of the Baptist Church, (of which Parson is a member) are pleading for compassion. News broke in The Intercept that Senator Joe Manchin, (Big Fossil Fuel's Best Friend)--will craft the climate bill. Why?! Manchin has been the poster boy for political corruption as recently outed by an EXXON LOBBYIST--so Why is he given this task?  I will discuss Joe Manchin's history and his conflict-of-interest in this political arena. Unlike the mainstream media, I will not label Manchin a 'moderate.' There is nothing 'moderated about him. He has been taking bribes LEGALLY for many years from big fossil fuel. Police brutality is alive and well in the US--STILL. Apparently removing Trump from office didn't bring about police accountability AT ALL. Here in Woodson Terrace, Missouri we have video of white police officers using a K9 attack dog on a black man accused of trespassing. The video was so reminiscent of Bull Connor and other Klan members sicking dogs on black citizens, that it received enough media attention to trigger an FBI investigation of that police department.  Besides talking about the facts of the case, Jeanine will discuss the original 1989 Supreme Court Case known as Graham v. Connor, which granted police, not only a license to brutalize, but a--license to kill. Jeanine will also question a democratically controlled Congress and a Democratic president too cowardly to revoke the damage done by the Graham standard.  Though the Graham standard disproportionally hurts communities of color--granting police a license to kill hurts us all. This week on the Environmental Justice Report, I will discuss the recent coverage by DeSmog on Climate-Conflicted Bank Directors. Frankly, that's civil speak for bank officers funding Ecocide. DeSmog names names and discusses the money trail which funds the fossil fuel industry.  With the COP26 conference looming, the discussion of big money must come into play. Does anyone actually believe that any meaningful goals to save the planet will be actualized if big banks are allowed to continue funding our mutual destruction?  We have no more time for empty promises of politicians beholden to the Banking Industry. Make no mistake this is a civil rights issue. And finally we come to the main event--The Justice Report. This week we will discuss the continuing fraudulent legal and scientific claims made by GOP governors and Attorney Generals regarding mask mandates--especially in our public schools. This comes in light of an enormous study published by the Stanford and Yale medical schools which clearly states that--yes--masking does prevent Covid transmission. This week, during the Days of Awe, namely the week in between Rosh Hashanah and the Day of Atonement, I chose to focus on the looming global climate crisis as a life-threatening crisis for the world's children. Both the UN and Unicef have created reports documenting this global disgrace. Not only is the planet reeling to the edge of extinction, but with it--children from impoverished nations. What the mainstream media does not want the public to realize is that environmental injustice stems from economic injustice. You cannot separate the two issues, and the one group helpless to stem the tide--are the children.  So, I will discuss these reports and possible solutions. I will also discuss the role of mainstream aka CORPORATE media as they continue to push the 'false equivalence' fallacy in their 'reporting' which is little more than expensive stenography.  I will not mince words. This week we will cover two topics of interest. First, we will talk about the Texas law essentially outlawing abortion rights, and the Florida GOP plan to do the same. The irony is too strong to ignore. While states like Texas and Florida scream 'right to life' for an undeveloped zygote--both states have feverishly worked to deny that same 'right to life' to those wanting reasonable mitigation precautions during COVID. Both states ironically have DENIED that 'right to life' to actual children by fighting mask and vaccine mandates in the middle of this deadly pandemic.  The second story will cover the actual authors of these anti-mask, anti-vaccine mandates, namely a 'bill mill' known by the acronym ALEC. If you notice an eerie similarity between all these COVID DENIALIST and CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL BILLS--it's no coincidence. The genesis of these anti-science bills--is ALEC.  Come join us!  Jeanine

We are continuing coverage on the planned negligence being orchestrated by the GOP when it comes to COVID. This week, Jeanine will speak to, yet another frivolous lawsuit filed by the Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt. AG Schmidt filed a lawsuit seeking to ban mask mandates---in Missouri's public schools. Sound familiar?! In this lawsuit Schmidt claims that the 'science' is on his side. (Newsflash--it isn't). But Eric Schmidt has another goal in mind--his upcoming campaign for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Roy Blunt. Essentially, Schmitt is USING this lawsuit to gain publicity for his candidacy--and our children are the pawns he is using so cynically.  Come tune in. 

This week on EJR, I will talk some more about how big banks are actively funding global climate devastation--and how the COP conference--greenwashes as they turn a blind eye on this global crime of ECOCIDE.
