He is a graduate of Augsburg University with degrees in Clinical Psychology and History and is an incoming graduate student at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar in Applied Islamic Ethics.  Currently, he is the Dean of Students and Academics at Ubah Medical Academy in addition to serving as the Chaplain to the Muslim community at the University of Minnesota, where he is currently an MA candidate in Heritage Studies and Public History. He holds a certificate in Islamic Studies with from Abubakar As-Siddique’s Institute for Islamic Studies, and completed a resident research fellowship at Dar Al-Hadith Al-Hassania in Rabat, Morocco with a dual enrollment at The University of Al-Qarawiyyin in the Faculty of Hadith. As a contributor for the Huffington Post and other publications he has written on the intersection Islam and Blackness, and in his downtime he is a translator of classical Islamic texts and manuscripts.
