Wow... another year is winding down. How time does fly and how it has definitely done that while having the amazing guests we've had come through the pod each week. Heal your mind, body and soul...and of course tap into that funny bone with some laughs as Winny Clarke joins us this week on the pod. Come and enjoy some good vibes as Winny brings us her energy and great convo throughout when she dives into getting her first role as a youngster by crying until she was accepted as Little Red Riding Hood, the stand up comedy start up that is having a come back here in the city, an early morning rise of road rage that makes for great story, the spiritual side of her that is all inspiring for better life and so much more. Right off of your TV screen and into those ear drums we have another epic Episode as the wonderfully talented Jess Salgueiro takes a break from crushing it and comes through on the pod this week. We get all the stories in this one from the start up, to pushing her way through musical theatre school that started up a theatre company and while performing a play, created her first big role on Saving Hope that has her now blowing up the scene with the likes of I'll Take Your Dead, Working Moms, Letterkenny, The Boys, The Expanse and many, many more great performances that have touched down on eyeballs everywhere. We can't forget about the very motivational collective movement, Bitches Be Witches, her respect and props to the everyday server and her love for telling stories in this beautiful industry north of the border that's also in here. From keys to beats to inspirational treats, we've got a banger of an episode as the 2018 Istandard Producer Award winner, Andrew Afework, comes through on Episode 45. Starting up the keys at the early age of 4 to evolving into the musically inclined man he is today, Andrew journeys us through his progression in the industry from starting as a youngster to becoming an alumni of The Remix Project to now producing and coproducing for various artists such as Reece, Connor Price, DNyse, Jrdn and get to hear about an insanely special pre birthday call he got to perform keys live for DVSN of OVO just recently. A long time coming as we get the return of one of the Podcasts firsts here when Comedian Dan Rosen comes back after a good portion of his year was spent performing both locally and departed across some of the country. Down off the bed of nails and right into the podcast this week we have one of Toronto's Best Busker's, Kyle Sipkens coming through in Ep 42. Kyle comes fresh off of touring most of the year to tell us about his 15 year career so far performing all of his art forms such as stilts, juggling swords, fire-breathing, poi and everything in between it seems. We get the inside scoop on his one man show "Lucky Barber" that's been going around, some hot knowledge of fire breathing, the experience of a not so kid like lady joining Kyle on his stilts in the Santa Clause Parade, and some more legendary talks from experience. Snacking his way through the pod this week and giving us some more laughs we have a return of comedian Aaron Heels in Episode 41. Aaron was an OG Episode earlier this year and blesses us with a pop back in to tell us what he's been up to since last time. He most recently made it into the Comedy Brawl Finals here in the 6ix, has a "mystery location" snack that he brings to the table...literally, a couple of his finest Weddings and their moments that may even reveal a decently choreographed famous dance number, and maybe even a little ranting that is still very much comedy. Up, up and over that hump as we hit a monumental 40th Episode on North of the 49th! And what a better way to celebrate and have some more laughs then to have the Fun Guys come back through the pod with another epic time! We get right into the comedy on this one with an epic return of Rocky (or is it...) from his trip last week, some interesting show trailers that pop up on their own, some very interesting "games" that need to be explained, and all things 40 of course. Huddling up this week to throw us a Hail Mary we got the Fun Guys back on Episode 39 for a little "Football Fun Frenzy" up in the pod. As NFL kicked off this past week we wanted to make it special (being huge fans and all of course), by having Khal and Rocky join up to talk about some football and share a bunch of laughs as we get into the drama of the off and on season, some early predictions for a great year to come, an in-field special experience with our man Rocky as we sent him out to discover the game, discussing some fantasy football elements and so much more. Now I know that feeling of post summer blues that is setting in on us all after the last beautiful long weekend of the year soooo.... here on North of the 49th we decided to turn those frowns upside down and put some chuckles in your abdomens by bringing you an "End of Summer Special" with the Fun Guys. Yes, Khal and Rocky return in Episode 38 to celebrate the most fond season of the year here north of the border with some highlights of it, although there may be a case of Summernesia in one of us, a called upon first time special guest, a Do's and Don't list of Summer 2019 and so much more hilarity ensuing on this week's pod.
