On the surface it's almost a traditional studio sitcom, however this often surreal whirlwind of insanity was unlike anything before, or arguably since. The Young Ones defined a generation of young people when released, and while very topical and of its time, is somehow also timeless, and made its stars household names. None more so than writer and actor Rik Mayall, one of the highest praised Gods in the brotherly forces pantheon.This week we pay homage to one of our all time favourite shows. We revel in its originality, wit, outstanding performances and its stupidity. They set out to create four deeply unlikable characters, in that task they failed. In every other way they succeeded.

Saddened to hear that John Challis, lost his battle with cancer this week we decided to recored a short tribute to talk about what made him particularly special. We discuss the unique way in which he embraced the much loved character of Boycie, his services to Only Fools and Horses throughout his life as well as some of our favourite moments. A beautiful balance between mainstream studio comedy and insane surreal antics are brought together in this hilarious cult classic early 00's series. A brilliant cast take us through the life of a mad man running a bookshop, despite him despising everything about people and business.This week we discuss just how insane Dylan Moran really is and lament the fact this is the only time that he revealed his genius to the mainstream.  We also touch base on the legacy of Goodnight Sweetheart in our previous episode and roll the dice to see which show we will tackle next.

Love, War and Time Travel. Now thats a recipe for us to get our teeth into. For the first time we leave the works of John Sullivan and branch out into our new format and other great UK Comedies. This week we talk about how interesting this show is historically and the huge contrast in Nicholas Lydhurst's character, Gary. We also reveal how we will choose what we takle on the the pod in the coming shows. 

Goodnight Sweetheart

In our first trip away from the lives of Delboy and Rodney we follow the Boyce family as they go on the run to rural Shropshire to evade the Driscol Brothers. This week we discuss our differing opinions on this notably different toned Only Fools Spin off and how the podcast will be evolving going forward. 

The Green Green Grass - Series 1 Round Up

Its the premature conclusion of the fantastically underrated Only Fools prequal, Rock and Chips. Joan is dreaming of disappearing into the sunset with Freddy, but its unclear if he can put his passed behind him. Meanwhile Del finds another finger willing to carry one of his five glass engagement rings.This week we discuss how Rock and Chips has found its feet, and style and become a brilliantly entertaining show, only to be cut short by the tragic passing of the legend John Sullivan.

Ep 76 - Rock & Chips: E3 - The Frog and The Pussycat

It's Christmas 1960 with the trotter family. Reg and Grandad are still useless while Joan works hard to bring up Rodney and bring home the bacon. Del is well and truly into his trading life and we also discover some of the origin behind his outlook on relationships. Meanwhile Freddie is out on bail and is not going to give up easily on connecting with Joan and his Son.This week we discus how the show and its characters are truly taking shape in this delicately but well balanced, Drama/comedy.

Ep 75 - Rock & Chips: E2 - Five Gold Rings

We've been catapulted into Early 60's London for the Only Fools Prequel to learn more about the Trotters. We see Del start his career in wheeler dealing while his fascinating and fantastically portrayed mother Joan laments her useless husband and becomes entangled with gentleman villain, Freddy the Frog. This time we discuss the very new feel of this extended Only Fools and Horses canon that has us well drawn in. 

Ep 74 - Rock & Chips: E1 - Pilot

This week we take a look back at the series as a whole and answer some of the classic Only Fools questions. We discuss what we consider some of the strongest and weakest episodes and hand out a couple of token awards to our favourite bit part characters.

Ep 73 - Time at the Bar: The Only Fools Round Up

Its the final ever episode of Only Fools and Horses. In classic fashion the Trotters are in desperate need of money and try to avoid eviction from Nelson Mandela House. Cassandras due date is drawing ever closer and Marlene has mysteriously disappeared. This week we discuss the many ingredients that make Only Fools so unique and brilliant. We are also left genuinely surprised by this fantastic and appropriate finale to an incredible journey.

Ep 72 -Sleepless in Peckham (S9E3)

The Trotters are off to France to pay homage to Albert and Del decides to turn it into an earner by roping Denzil into a booze cruise. All goes pare shaped however when it turns out they have a stowaway on board. This week we talk for a surprisingly long time about another divisive episode and how Roger Lloyd Pack as Trigger steals the show. 

Ep 71 - Strangers on the shore (S9E2)

Five years after becoming millionaires, the Trotters find themselves back  at Nelson Mandela House potless. Rodney and Cassandra are trying to spice up their marriage while Del is trying to restore the families wealth. This week we discuss the first of the controversial "reprise" episodes with as open minds as we can manage. Listen to discover whether we were pleasantly surprised, or sadly disappointed.

Ep 70 - If they could see us now.....!

Dubbed as our 'False Finale', we do a special - extended and uncut episode of the podcast. We all know the storyline, so this week line up the drinks and celebrate this absolute pleasure of a journey and all those that have joined us for the ride. Expect some unnecessary tangents, tears of joy and tears of laughter. Its an episode for all the feels, its of course, Time on our Hands.
