At our last celebration we launched our regional series on the Body of Christ, which we have continued in each of our churches.  We heard clearly through a prophetic picture of a man being tied down that God wants to bring freedom to us in order that his body, the church, can rise up to be all he wants us to be.  Our theme for the celebration is Freedom for Purpose, God wants each one of us to enter fully into the freedom Christ won for us, so that we are free to play our part in his body and his mission. We are excited to welcome back Jacek Orłowski to preach this celebration. Jacek, with his wife Basha, lead a church in Nowy Sącz, Poland. As well as group of churches across South Poland.

Freedom for Purpose

For the 3rd of our ‘Formed for...’ series we focused on Mission and were excited to have Richard Larcombe joining us.It was a time of releasing personal faith for salvation and overcoming obstacles preventing us from sharing our faith.Rich carries a heart for people and to seeing them stepping out in faith, sharing the gospel.Rich is an equipping evangelist. He previously worked at Bethel Church in Redding California, where he helped to develop an online Evangelism training course.

West Region Celebration: Formed for Mission

The Bible tells the wonderful story of God’s engagement with his people. From our creation to eternity, he lavishes love upon us and calls us to delight in him. We were formed for his presence, created to live face to face with our God and called to reflect him in our world. At our January celebration, Matt Biddlecombe spoke on this theme, looking at it’s Biblical context and exploring what it means for our everyday life. Matt leads Carterton Community Church and is part of the Regional Equipping Team for West Oxfordshire. He is married to Anna and they have two children.

Formed for his Presence

A gathering of the three regions of Oxfordshire Community Churches together to celebrate the goodness of God and to hear from Michael Green. Michael has been a leading evangelist and a key thinker on evangelism in the UK church for many years. Having spent 11 years at St. Aldate’s in Oxford he has been a huge influence for the kingdom locally, and has also taught on evangelism, mission and apologetics in London, Nottingham, Vancouver and back in Oxford at Wycliffe Hall. He was the advisor to the archbishops of Canterbury and York for the decade of evangelism and has written over 50 books including Evangelism in the early church’, ‘Evangelism through the local church’, ‘I believe in the Holy Spirit’ and ‘Who is this Jesus?’. He is a passionate follower of Jesus who has an unstoppable desire to see others come to know God for themselves, and is still living out his call as an evangelist and an equipper of the saints in evangelism in his eighties!

Together we Go: Living Generous Lives

God specialises in reviving broken people, and pouring life even into nations that appear to have no hope. So can God revive unbelieving UK and secular Europe? Or other nations beset by war or famine? For that matter, how can we find fresh hope for friends and family to know God? God’s threefold answer to this tantalising question will challenge our faith, prayer and action!

‘West Oxfordshire is Too Small’ The powerful story of Scripture follows a people who are often on the move, following a God who is always pressing forward. Abraham left his home, the Israelites followed the cloud, the early church was marked by missionary adventure. Wherever they went, they took something with them; the identity and culture of a people who know their God. We believe that we are called to keep moving forward. In our roots is a call to be a pioneering people who refuse to settle as long as God is continuing to move. The church is part of God’s great plan to reveal Jesus to the world. It means that we have to keep moving - not just ones and twos, but together we go!” Dan Campsall will be speaking. Dan, and his wife Kerstin, lead the West Region and Witney Community Church

West Region Celebration: Together We Go

We were joined by Tom Bedford. Tom is currently planting a church in Fresno, California, having led a church in the middle of America for a number of years. He is part of Coast to Coast a US church network which is part of Salt and Light. He is received in the UK and Scandinavia by a number of churches. He is a church builder who carries a strong prophetic gift. We are very excited to welcome Tom, and are trusting that God will speak to each of us through him.

In life, we are often asked the question ‘How are you doing?’ which suggests that the enquirer has a concern for our well-being in the present, but how often as we asked ‘Where are you going?’ The latter asks about our destination rather than a present point of departure. It asks us to reflect on what is motivating us, rather than giving voice to what is distracting us. We are looking for God to speak and help each one of us to find our place in the amazing plans that he has!

Finding your place in God's Plan

We were joined by Philip Jinadu at our West Region Celebration. Philip is a leader at Woodlands METRO, Bristol - a new church aimed towards 18-35 year olds, particularly urban professionals and students. Philip also has an evangelistic ministry traveling all over the UK sharing the gospel and seeing people saved!
