Bryan joins the show celebrating six months of sobriety. He is looking for ways to deepen his spirituality and put his beliefs into practice. Bryan has always been spiritual and has practiced things like yoga and meditation throughout his life. His addiction pulled him further and further away from these practices until he became someone who only talked about spirituality instead of living his values. These last six months have been great for Bryan, and he has made some progress at work and with his relationships. Now he wants to incorporate his spirituality into his new life Rachel reminds us that there are four wheels to hold up a car- body, mind, heart, and spirit. We need to pause and take notice of the synchronicities and coincidences of life. When they occur, we must take a moment to receive then, say thank you, and say, “show me more.” Rachel and Bryan move on to discuss the infinite field of abundance. Believing in this is to reject the collective consciousness that makes us get snagged in daily life. Taking a step back is particularly important for people in recovery who can get lost in thinking about all the bad things they have done. Instead, consider the bigger picture and appreciate the grandeur of life. Rachel suggests nature as a way of engaging in the bliss of the infinite field of abundance and shares the healing power of simply going outside and cleansing yourself with the help of rain or the ocean. Bryan shares a bit more about his path to addiction and eventual recovery. Rachel identifies a particularly painful break-up in Bryan’s early 20’s that could be the catalyst for his spiritual drought. Rachel encourages Bryan to do some further reflection around this experience on his own or with a therapist. Lastly, Rachel reminds us that in recovery, we are recovering pieces of ourselves and fighting soul fragmentation. Episode 5: Believing In Abundance

Christina joins the show – she is excited to report she is 30 days into her sobriety. However, she wants to know how to find the courage to ask for help and ways she can practice being more patient on the journey. When we have feelings of being a burden, there is a part of us that has low self-worth. Christina has recognized the importance of having fewer but more significant relationships. Rachel spots a thin layer of codependency and people-pleasing in Christina. Life isn’t perfect, so Christina knows she doesn’t need to be perfect. People-pleasing is exhausting, and we need to recognize that it comes from the little ones inside of us. During a time of recovery, it is essential to feel the feelings. Then, Rachel tells a story about a mom yelling at her crying child. It is healthy to cry, and everything will pass. Most people need to carve out time in their day to feel our feelings during meditation, journaling, or breathing. Even doing one of these practices for ten minutes each day will change our mindset and ultimately, our journey. Episode 4: Navigating Self-Pity

Maryanne joins the show – daily life has gotten to her, and she has had a hard time meditating. Maryanne wants to get back on a good vibration disc. Work is too expanded for Maryanne – it has become such a dominant force. Family life is falling to the side, whereas our lives should be about harmony and balance. Maryanne was able to manifest business. However, it has become tough to juggle it all. How are you supposed to sustain all this newfound business? Maryanne knows she needs to feed the fire, but she is too drained! Rachel says that Maryanne needs to slow down. If we go too fast, we trip over our feet. Sustaining and growing a business will involve slowing down to keep up with the demand. Ask your deeper why. Episode 3: The Need to Slow Down

Anne joins the show – she is married to an addict who is sometimes in recovery and sometimes not in recovery. Recently, Anne decided to go towards more self-care. She is digging into some of the things that have happened in the last few years using therapy. Anne isn’t new to therapy. It’s a lot of the same things she has uncovered since she went into therapy for the first time. Now, it’s just new levels of betrayal and drama that have happened. Without her husband, Anne would be more emotional and vocal about what she is feeling. Rachel says there is never a good time to get divorced. Plus, having healthy boundaries is how we teach our children to love themselves and be a caring person in the community, whatever shadows that are not being addressed in the home will get acted out through the children. When we are so focused on the other person in a relationship, it’s hard to think about what we want. Anne wants her household to stay intact while her children are still in school. Recently, Anne has found self-respect and her strong voice. It feels both powerful and scary. Anne is looking to unearth some of her pain – she is afraid she will lose control. Episode 2: Unearthing Shame

Tara joins the show – connecting with a higher power is new for her. Tara has been sober for over ten months now. Tara asked for help from a higher power - asking for help will open us up to receiving. Surrender to a higher power. Tara remembers the moment she surrenders like it was yesterday. Tara has recently gotten a new perspective on life by tapping into higher wisdom and consciousness. After the passing of her mom, she drank consistently. Tara knew she needed to save herself and do more. Ever since she asked for help, the spiritual world answered. Currently, Tara is stressed about work. Tara understands that she needs to slow down and realize that life happens at the pace that it happens. Tara is part of two different courses – one for management and the other for the end of life care. Her heart is in the fascinating study of caring for people at the end of their lives. Plus, Tara volunteers at a local hospice. Rachel explains that we all need to find time for ourselves – Tara may need to take one thing off of her plate. Being busy can be emotional pain management. Being active can become an addiction and a substance. Rachel says we need to practice self-discipline when it comes to work addiction. Think about what is in the highest and best needs of yourself.
