There have been lies to get us into the Spanish-American War, Vietnam, and other smaller wars and we have engaged in other wars, Tripoli for example, in defense of commerce and now some believe for oil and corporate interest. Why we fight.

Republican congressional leaders urged President Barack Obama today to send more U.S. troops in Afghanistan. They urged him to act quickly as any delay could endanger troops already there in what some say is a deteriorating situation."Time is not on our side," said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., after a bipartisan meeting with Obama. "We need to act with deliberate haste.""He wants ample time to make a good decision. Frankly, I support that," added Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, his party's leader in the House of Representatives. "But we need to remember that every day that goes by, the troops that we do have there are in greater danger. I don't believe the president needs to make a decision in haste, but we need to get this right."

Exageration and hypebole are expected in politics. Generally there is some fire under all that smoke. What did the right base the scare tactics for Obama's heath care on?

Throwing granny under the bus and the "death panels"

Obama's foreign policy is a Bush III policy and if you liked Bush on his more wars for the empire, then you gotta love this guy. If you didn't know it during the campaign, wake up. Let's see who has more influence on Obama. His base, the left (which is fading), his heady ambition to make history and change the world, and/or the grasp of the war machine - now known as the Congressional Military Complex. I'm putting my money on war since that makes history and serves many special interests.
