You open an article you published last month, click its TikTok example, and get an unavailable page. Maybe the post was removed. Maybe its audience changed. Maybe the link is broken. You cannot tell from that screen alone, but your readers still need an article that makes sense without the clip.Check the address first. Compare the link in your published page with the one in your notes. Extra punctuation, a cut-off URL, or a link to the wrong post can create a simple mistake. If the correct link still does not open for your audience, record the date you checked it and say only what you know: the original post is unavailable. Do not claim the creator deleted it unless you can support that explanation. Now look at the job the clip was doing. If it was a nice illustration of a point your text explains on its own, a short note may be enough. If the whole argument depends on a reader seeing that exact post, you may need a new source, a narrower claim, or a rewritten section. Never swap in a different creator's video just because it looks similar. Check that the replacement supports the actual sentence beside it.Embedded players need attention, too. TikTok's embed tools show the original post within a webpage; they do not turn it into a permanent file you control. Preview the published page on a phone and a computer. If the player is empty, remove or replace it with a clear explanation rather than leaving readers to wonder what they missed. Check slide decks, newsletters, and resource lists that linked to the same source. What if you saved a copy earlier? Even a permitted local file does not automatically answer whether you should continue showing or redistributing it after the source changes. Look at the original permission and the current use. If you obtained that authorized copy through snaptikllc, the method of saving it has not expanded your rights. Ask the creator when their intent or the terms are unclear. Do not try to get around a private or removed post with credentials or someone else's account.Picture a teacher who used a public clip in a media literacy lesson. Once the post becomes unavailable, the teacher notes when it was last checked, updates the lesson link, and decides whether another verifiable example can teach the same point. That small edit is part of keeping a useful resource honest. The goal is to help the next reader understand what can still be checked, not to make an old citation look perfect forever.Information about SnapTik: Website: https://snaptik.llc Address: 275 Madison Avenue, Suite 1602, New York, NY 10016, United StatesHotline: 1 (212) 555-0187
