I truly believe and know that it can be possible for a self-employed massage therapist to easily make 100k per year, all working less than 25 hours per week. Is Your Massage Practice Stuck With The Label Of Being A Commodity??

We have all been there when we absolutely bust our ass to give the best possible treatment and go above and beyond for the client, only to have them turn around and say "this treatment isn't working." It can make you want to scream or even call the client out for not following the process, doing stupid shit in-between appointments, or living in a fantasy world that a complex injury could magically be solved in a few visits. I also knew massage therapists were the key to helping along with this mission because they have the best hands in the world when it comes to palpation and soft tissue treatments, but they are plagued with their own limiting beliefs and not being taken seriously as a healthcare provider. It broke my heart the other day when I saw overdose deaths from opioids were up 30 percent in 2020, that's an absolutely tragic statistic. I recorded this podcast stuck at home as I was unable to leave my house because I blew out my back bending down to tie my shoes. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time for me, sometimes more often than I would like. Manual therapy and bodywork is a very physical and tough profession, it can add a lot of wear and tear to the body. On top of that, a lot of us in the profession were athletes in our younger years and already have done a good amount of damage to our bodies. As I have been mentoring and training massage therapists over the past few years my message focuses on the importance of taking care of your own health and body first, so you can help more people. You have to help yourself before you can ever help anyone else, yet a majority of us in the bodywork profession put our own health and bodies further down the list of priorities. Eventually, your health will be the number one priority and it's easier to pay attention earlier before it gets out of control and you cant come back.  In this episode, I share my own struggles with my body being damaged, how to make sure you don't get bad as me, and plead with you to become selfish when it comes to your health. The #1 Fear That All Manual Therapists Have & How You Can Keep It From Ever Coming True?

In our previous episode, we explored the idea of how being fully booked out is actually limiting your results for your clients and beating up your own body and mind. I have always been a big proponent of the idea of, "work smarter, not harder." Our goal is to change the way treatment is delivered, instead of being about how much time you spend with the client, we focus on the result. As I have said before if you can fix a problem in 20 minutes that might take someone 60 minutes, wouldn't that make you 3x's more valuable? Most massage therapists, especially the good ones know that they won't be able to keep up the pace they are at but are skeptical of what their clients will think if they try to go down to a shorter session. In this episode, I approached the idea of why 20-minute sessions are better across the board for everyone involved. First, from the perspective of the client, but most importantly for you as the therapist!
