B.nab is a lover of rhymes and a good old romantic story. She strives to assert her own voice, in a society that tries to make their voices hers.

SHE COMES FIRST

Martin begins with a poem written by Robert Lee Frost, On The Inflation of Currency 1919. Drawing ironic parallels with the current local and international economic state. Martin Namu is a techie with a penchant for words and an inability to resist the impulse to start fires. He is an old soul with a jarful of 2 bob opinions and a paintbrush of colourful language. Like Trump, take him seriously but not bigly literally.

ON THE INFLATION OF CURRENCY, 1919

Mufasa is a poet and spoken-word artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Known for his highly emotive voice and animated delivery that sparks an electric frenzy among his audience, He is a campaigner for social justice and human dignity, and believes in creative expression for social change. Listed by Badilisha Poetry Xchange as one of the top 10 African poets of 2018, Mufasa is also a multiple Slam champion, judge and workshop facilitator at Poetry Slam Africa, a competition that aims to recognise poets and spoken-word artists discussing a range of current issues affecting Africa and the world at large.

We had a candid conversation on xenophobia, femicide, patriarchy, Karabo Mokoena, the #AreWeNext protests sparked by the brutal murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana, and the adoption of Swahili into the South African education curriculum.
