Ep.72 The Boys Are Back

He turned in the fourth-lowest stroke average in Vanderbilt history when he averaged 70.26 strokes per round during his senior year of 2017-18. Earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Year honors and was an All-SEC first-team selection. Earned first-team All-American honors that season, as well. Theo was also the 2018 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Today on the SRP we sit down with European Tour player, Austin Connelly. He was ranked fourth in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Won several prestigious events including the 2015 Jones Cup, 2014 AJGA FJ Invitational and the individual Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup. Earned European Tour status after making the cut at 2016 Qualifying School Final Stage and enjoyed a strong start to his Tour career with three top-ten finishes, including a second-place finish in the KLM Open. Finished inside the top 15 in his first Major Championship, the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, which helped secure his European Tour status for 2018. Is a dual-citizen, splitting time between Nova Scotia and Texas, where he works with swing coach and 2015 PGA of America Teacher of the Year, Cameron McCormick.
