Today I sat down with Pat Toben from Sioux City Community Schools.  We talked about some of the programs she's working on for the schools--like Carnegie Hall's Link-Up and Met HD Live--as well as her personal history with the arts and art education.

Kelsey is the Reader Services Specialist for the Sioux City Public Library. She leads the Open Book Club and is a co-host of The First Fifty Pages podcast. Kelsey and I talk about spooky or strange books, and she offers up some good ones. BJ and I talk about his latest book, Midwestern Strange: Hunting Monsters, Martians, and the Weird in Flyover Country. It's a book that on its face dives into paranormal sightings (think werewolves, UFOs, and giant turtles), but as BJ explains in our conversation, "It's really a book about people."
