Out of nowhere, David steps on the scene and slays Goliath, becomes captain of Saul's army, and now King Saul is filled with great jealousy and rage toward David's accomplishments. Have you ever felt like for no reason at all your life just begins to spiral into a struggle and you wished you had a Friend to lean on? In I Samuel 20, we see a friendship example like no other in Jonathan and David. Jonathan is Saul's son, a prince, and heir to the throne and the friendship he finds in David is so valuable that he is willing to sacrifice everything to help his friend. I Samuel 18:1 says "the soul of Jonathan was KNIT to the soul of David" CCW it is vital in this journey that you have people you are KNIT together with to make it through the struggles of life.

Do you struggle like most people looking around you and seeing what people have or where they are in life and comparing yourself? We compare successes with man made measurements when God looks at our heart. King Saul, that's right the King over all of Israel was set off when he heard this song I. Samuel 18:7- "Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands" veiling the very important fact that either way they were winning their battles. We are going to dive into one of the great tools of Satan: the fight of comparison.

We are kicking off our new series this Sunday! The story of the life of David is one that is so relatable because David was all over the map. David went from Shepherd Boy, to Musician, to Giant Killer, to Homeless, to Captain of an Army, to Poet, to King, to Adulterer, to Man after God's own heart! Whew! His story starts Big (literally) as he faces the 9'6 battle that no one else would. We will be looking this week from I Sam 17 "Face the Giant" the story of David and Goliath. We all have Giants in our lives and God wants you to know if He can use a Shepherd boy with a rock,He'll use you. Every Goliath can fall.

It's time to cross over the Jordan and enter the promised land! This is going to take courage. Why did God say to Joshua, "Be strong and of good courage"? Courage is needed when life is full of change. How we respond to such challenges can change you, and those around you. The dividing line between mediocrity and success is courage. God told Joshua, David told Solomon, as he ascended the throne, and God is telling you and me that in the days ahead we need to be courageous. David said it well, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it” (1 Chronicles 28:20). Pastor Rick laid out a clear path of being Mile 2 Christians in 2022, let's take courage and do it!

Happy New Year CCW! Proverbs 29:18 says where there is no vision the people perish. Today we kick off 2022 with Vision Sunday! In Genesis 24 we see a principle unfold from the story of Isaac and Rebekah, that Jesus would teach the disciples "if a man asks you to go one mile, go with him two. Sunday's Vision sermon is entitled "2022 Taking Mile 2." CCW is a community Church that exists to "Love God and Love People". Mile 2 is being a Church ready for opportunities to Make Much of Jesus every day and love our community! We Know God is going to take us further and deeper in this new year! We are looking forward to seeing all God has in store at CCW and can't wait to jump into 2022 with YOU!!

Today we are finishing our Searching for Christmas series with Pastor Rick’s sermon is entitled “O come all ye faithful, stay faithful.” In Luke 2 (40 days) after Jesus Birth we see how Christmas can continue everyday and is exalted, edified, and evangelized through Faithful people. We can’t wait to close out 2021 with YOU!!

This is the Sunday before Christmas. I'll be preaching a message titled "Mary, Did You Know?" Heaven announced the birth of Jesus in these words, “The Virgin will give birth to a son, and call him Immanuel which means, “God with us.” We can be sure that Jesus was born of a virgin because: 1. The Angel of the Lord announced it (Matthew 1:20). 2. Mary's husband-to-be accepted it (Matthew 1:24). 3. Elizabeth, her cousin, received it by divine revelation (Luke 1:41-42). 4. The story was written by a well-respected medical doctor, Luke, personally knew the people involved. So this Sunday we will take a close look into the message Gabriel delivered to Mary. Join us as we remember Christ's birth and death in this very special Christmas service.

It’s the time of the year everyone is beginning to exert great effort and expense in the search of gifts; online shopping and long lines in shopping centers abound. Many are seeking and searching to have a Christmas. Christmas came to earth over 2000 years ago, and wise men with great effort and great expense sought to find Him to bring Him a gift of worship. Today, “Wise Men still seek Jesus” join us Sunday for the 2nd part to our Searching for Christmas series.

Have you ever wondered why God chose shepherds to be the first recipients of the glorious news concerning Jesus' birth? He didn't send Gabriel and the angel chorus to the priests, or the wise men, or the rulers. He chose the shepherds, even though they were despised by the orthodox Jews of the day. The nature of their tasks as shepherds kept them from keeping the details of the ceremonial law. The shepherds were considered the lowest of the common people. This Sunday we will see why God choose these Shepherds, and perhaps come to appreciate that God shows grace to those in humble circumstances.

Happy ThanksLiving!! We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating, laughing, napping, and feasting on Turkey and all manor of casserole. God has been so good to The Church at CW and we are honored and blessed to serve and minister alongside this sweet Church family! So we want to say, THANK YOU! Paul said, in Phillipians 4:4 "Rejoice in The Lord Always, and again I say Rejoice." How can we be thankful even when we don't feel Thankful? This Sunday's Sermon will dig into the answer and is entitled "How to be Mentally Thankful." ThanksLiving is more than a celebration, it is a state of mind.

As we move into Philippians, chapter three, we will be looking at the Joy of Christian Living. This passage could be one of the most important in the Bible for the Christian. It has to do with the example we set before the world and before our families and friends. What kind of example are you? Those who know us, watch us; and they follow both the good and bad of our example. We influence people by how we live and by what we do. That is why it is so important that people see the joy of the Lord all over us as we live this Christian life.

As we move forward into Philippians, chapter two, we learn that as Christians, our lives should glow; we should live radiant lives! Psalms 34:5 says “Those who look to Him are radiant, they shall never be ashamed”. The great Apostle Paul teaches us about our spiritual motivations and our spiritual obligations. These two propositions must be real in our lives if we are to have the joy of the Lord radiating from our lives.

The leaves and time are changing, and here we are already nearing the time of year for Turkey, casseroles, Pie and celebrations of Thanksgiving. Paul encouraged the Phillipian church “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say Rejoice.” In other words, practice being Thankful and then do it again, and again. It’s more than one day or one month of Thanksgiving. He says it’s about a life of ThanksLiving! This Sunday, Pastor Rick is kicking off our November sermon series on the book of Phillipians called ThanksLiving.

A peacemaker, from a Biblical perspective, is not passive, but is someone who actively pursues opportunity to reconcile people to God and each other.  Matthew 5:9, Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called Sons of God.  Jesus life message was all about bringing peace and he proclaimed in the great Sermon on the Mount; Disciples, Christians you need to be peacemakers!
