The Gospel of John Chapter 10  (Audio Bible - NIV)   1 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep  pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a  robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3  The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his  voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has  brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow  him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a  stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not  recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but  the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.  7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for  the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but  the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters  through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find  pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have  come that they may have life, and have it to the full.  11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the  sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the  sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs  away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs  away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.  14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15  just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life  for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. So the man went and washed,  and came home seeing.  8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked,  “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” 9 Some claimed that  he was.  Others said, “No, he only looks like him.”  But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”  10 “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.  11 He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my  eyes. How is it that now  he can see?”  20 “We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was  born blind. 21 But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t  know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” 22 His parents  said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already  had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah  would be put out of the synagogue. 23 That was why his parents said, “He  is of age; ask him.”  24 A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory  to God by telling the truth,” they said. “We know this man is a sinner.”  25 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I  do know. I was blind but now I see!”  26 Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your  eyes?”  27 He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do  you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?”  28 Then they hurled insults at him and said, “You are this fellow’s  disciple! We are disciples of Moses! 29 We know that God spoke to Moses,  but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.”  30 The man answered, “Now that is remarkable! Jesus’  mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to  the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They  have no more wine.” 4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet  come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for  ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled  them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the  banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had  been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though  the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the  bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first  and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink;  but you have saved the best till now.” 11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs  through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. 12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and  his disciples. Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples  remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” 18 The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove  your authority to do all this?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again  in three days.” 20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and  you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had  spoken of was his body. 22 After he was raised from the dead, his  disciples recalled what he had said.
