Welcome Back to another addition of This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball! In Episode 14 we continue talks about the off-season. J. Ellet Lambie of Eye of the Tigers and Greg Eno of the Greg Eno Empire joins us to discuss that one trade that took place last week. The guys also discuss the latest Detroit Tigers news. We discuss the starting rotation in 2010, the bullpen, and of course offensive woes. Management will look from within to add offensive presence. Only time will tell if it works out, especially after losing the number one and two hitters in the lineup. The guys share their opinions on the offensive woes. Plus, do the Tigers have a vision? I ask the round table to get their opinions on where the Tigers are going and if they have a specific vision. Also joining us on the show is Wally Fish of Kings of Kauffman. Wally kicks off the A.L. Central Off-Season segment with Royals talk. Is Jason Kendall the right catcher? After a tough 2009 season, are Royals fans happy with Trey Hillman as the manager of the club? Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLB Trade Rumors joined us to break down the latest trade rumors swirling, tonight’s arbitration decisions, and possible free agents the Tigers could be targeting. Nicholson-Smith shares his thoughts on whether the Tigers should offer arbitration to Placido Polanco, Fernando Rodney and Brandon Lyon. Also we discuss the shortstop position and the free agents the Tigers should be targeting. And finally we discuss the trade rumors involving Edwin Jackson, Curtis Granderson and Miguel Cabrera. In the discussion panel, Al Beaton of the Wayne Fontes Experience and Greg Eno of the Eno Empire on the web join us to bring you a fan-like perspective of the off-season thus far. The guys make their predictions on arbitration for tonight as well as break down some of the positions that need to be addressed in this off-season. Of course we talk about the trade rumors swirling, and all three of us agree that trading Cabrera better return 3-4 full time players ready to man a position in Detroit right away. The defining series of the year is here, and without further ado, so is This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball! Finally This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is back with another edition of hard hitting Detroit Tigers Baseball Talk! The Playoffs are right around the corner, and the Tigers find themselves in a heated battle to make the playoffs. In this Edition, Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks and Greg Eno.com, J. Ellet Lambie of Eye of the Tigers, and Ian Casselberry of Bless You Boys join us to talk about last weekend’s series against the Twins, the current Indians series and the upcoming Chicago White Sox Series. As always, we also hit on the latest Tigers news and commentary as the Division Series awaits someone out of the American League Central. TWIDTB Episode X: Race to the Playoffs

The Detroit Tigers are leading the division and This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is here to talk about it! In episode number nine, I was fortunate to be joined by Jim Weber of WCWA 1230 AM in Toledo. Jim has been the voice of the Toledo Mud Hens for 35 years now, so he knows what he is talking about! Jim told us about some of his experiences in the booth, the rehab of Nate Robertson, the 2009 Mud Hen season, and some insight on current Mud Hens on the roster. Thanks to Jim for taking time to talk to me just hours before a game earlier this week. On the Panel this week are two guys who really know Tigers Baseball. Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks returns to the show, and Ian Casselberrry of Bless You Boys stops by to discuss the latest tigers news this week. Some of the main focus was on the pennant race, September baseball and this strange, strange 2009 team. This week was special because Eno, also known as the “voice of reason” changed a stance of his for the 2009 Tigers team. Also joining us to talk about Scott Green and Andy Dirks, two prospects that might have a future in the Old D, is Paul Wezner of Tigs Town. Tigs Town without a doubt is The best source for Tigers minor league coverage and analysis. Scott Green will undergo surgery, but is still a future late inning reliever. Andy Dirks has shown some power in the outfield, and provides some spark offensively. And finally in our This Week in Detroit Tigers History, we look back to September 4th, 1984 when Jack Morris finally ended his silence with the media. Morris did it as a favor to manager Sparky Anderson, and after his so called silence from the media, Morris responded. After September, Morris went on to pitch three crucial games in the World Series. The rest we all know is the continuance of a hall of fame career. Hopefully the writers eventually realize that too. In this episode: We bring you some clips from Daniel Fields, Jacob Turner, and Andy Oliver. Those three shared their thoughts the day of signing their first major league deals. Paul Wesner of Tigs Town joins us to break down these prospects and talk about Brooks Brown, a righty with the Toledo Mud Hens. Al Beaton and Greg Eno of The Knee Jerks join us to talk about the latest stretch in play and the acquisition of Aubrey Huff. Finally we wrap up the show with A quote from Dave Dombrowski. TWIDTB Episode VIII: The Huff Factor

Welcome back for another addition of this Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball. In this episode, J. Ellet Lambie of Eye of the Tigers and John Brunn of Tiger Geist stop by to talk about this week’s action. In our roundtable, John, J. and I discuss many different things including Jim Leyland’s comments on the fan’s view of performance enhancing drugs, the offensive production at the top of the order, John Smoltz, Al Avila’s debut, waiver wire talk, and much much more, including J. Ellet Lambie’s dream to stuff Ryan Raburn in a bag (Okay, maybe not! Still, his points on the outfield situation are dead on!) In This Week in Detroit Tigers History, we look back to August 12th 1987, when the Tigers traded Doyle Alexander for John Smolz. A trade that will always resonate in the heads of Detroit sports fans. John Smoltz was dealt to the Braves after Atlanta declined interest in taking any of the four original prospects offered. It came between starters John Smoltz and Steve Searchy. The Tigers decided to keep Searchy because he was more major league ready. Looks like that decision will haunt the Tigers for quite some time, considering Smoltz’s lengthy and successful career In our Prospect on the Prowl segment, a little known shortstop named Brent Dlugach has made a name for himself at the AAA Level. After years of injury problems, the 26 year old might have found himself in just the right place, with Adam Everett and Ramon Santiago entering free agency in the off-season. Mike and I also talk about Alan Trammell, his relationship with former pitching coach Bob Cluck, and how hard it was moving on to St. Louis after being traded in 2007. This Week In Detroit Tigers Baseball is back with a brand new episode, despite the struggles at the MCB Headquarters. In this week’s installment, Greg Eno, J. Ellet Lambie, and John Brunn join me to talk about this week’s action and the news surrounding our Tigers squad Matt Wallace was also kind enough to join us for the prospect on the prowl segment, where Matt profiles Futures game member Scott Sizemore. Topics include: Rick Porcello’s missed start, Carlos Guillen, Jeremy Bonderman, The All-Star Game, Brandon Inge’s push to the top, Luke French and more. In this week in Detroit Tigers history, the year was 1911. Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford were doing their best impression of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle (the fore fathers?) A brand new edition of This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball is here! In episode number three, we cover the first half of the season. Our Guests on the opening panel in this episode: Greg Eno- Where are you now, Johnny Grubb? Ian Casselberry- Bless You Boys John Brunn- Tiger Geist J. Ellet Lambie- Eye of the Tigers Topics of the First segment include: Team MVPs, Rick Knapp, Pitching performances of the first half and if this teams compares to any other Tigers squads in the past. In the second Segment, the guys talk about the trade deadline, and J. Ellet Lambie explains how Nate Robertson could be used in the second half (let’s just say it has nothing to with pitching!). Topics discussed included: Adding a bat in the order via trade, Is Adam Dunn a good fit? What is the best solution to the backend of the rotation? Will Edwin Jackson and Justin Verlander hold up in the second half? Thanks again to the guests in the first two segments! Matt Wallace of Take 75 North joined us for this week’s Prospect on the Prowl. Today’s topic was the recent Amatuer draft. Though Matt and I hit on top two picks Andy Oliver and Jacob Turner, our main focus was third round pick Wade Gaynor out of Western Kentucky. Wallace also informs us on some recent prospects that are on the climb and some recent injuries. Thanks again Matt from your insight and time. Finally we wrap up episode number three with This Week in Detroit Tiger history. In this episode we go all the way back to June 28, 1976, where Mark “The Bird” Fidyrich took the nation by storm on Monday Night Baseball. The Bird was the word in the 1976 season, going 19-9 in 29 starts. Of those 29, Fidryich went the distance 24 times. Something that is unheard of these days.

Also in this Edition: Prospect on the Prowl: Alfredo Figaro, SP Detroit Tigers This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball History: On June 24th and June 25 in 1998, the Tigers brought traded two longtime Major Leagues in Tim Worell and Dave Roberts to obtain power prospect Geronimo Berroa. Berroa never panned out. The Tigers also trade Bip Roberts to the Athletics the week before the deadline.
