It has been a long while since we have visited this franchise, and given the fact that it is Shark Week, we thought it would be appropriate to dive back in.  This is the fourth entry in the series and as you would expect, it is more ridiculous than anything that came before it.  That being said, they are still pretty fun to watch.

I'm Gonna Get You, Finn Shepard, And Your Little Chainsaw Too!

Continuing on our Star Wars saga brings us to arguably the worst film in the entire franchise.  There are many problems with the film; be it the acting, the dialog, the story, or the entire lack of chemistry.  All that being said, it is a Star Wars film so there still are some enjoyable moments.  They just happen to be few and far between.

I Don't Like Sand. It's Coarse And Rough And Irritating And It Gets Everywhere.

We have finally reached the end of the two horror franchises we started.  One was overall pretty consistent, while the other was quite the chore to push through at times.  That being said, it did end on a relatively strong note.  The other franchise was consistent in the style and storytelling, but there were some ups and downs throughout the series.  We will be starting another couple of franchises soon, so be sure to look for that.

The Conclusion To Our First Two Horror Franchises.

It has been a minute since we have posted a new episode, but that is because we had some difficulty upgrading our setup.  Now that we have that locked in, we think the sound is much better than it was previously.  The maiden voyage with our new gear happens to be our favorite Korean films.  We all seemed to agree that the film scene from Korea was the best international scene we have come across.  Surprisingly, none of us chose any of the heavy hitters.

This episode we take a look at a movie that has just left HBO Max.  It is the third movie in the franchise and stays pretty consistent with the original two.  Even though movies like this are best seen in theatres, there are still plenty of jump scares and tense moments that are effective watching at home.

I Think I Hurt Someone.

Sometimes you have to go backward in order to go forward.  We are starting the second phase of this series of movies, which takes us to the beginning of the story.  This second trilogy gives us the origins of many of the characters that were introduced years earlier.  It's pretty universally agreed that this is an inferior trilogy, but there are moments in each that really stand out.

The Ability To Speak Does Not Make You Intelligent.

This category episode we go back to looking at movies from a specific country.  The country that we chose was Spain.  Going through the films, we discovered that we hadn't seen a great deal of Spanish movies.  However, we came up with three very distinct choices.  One of the movies is a mystery thriller, one a sci fi mind bender, and the other is a fantasy classic.

At first glance, this year didn't appear to be that strong, but as we got into it, there proved to be some pretty good films.  The three of us didn't have as much crossover as we usually do, which caused the episode to run a bit long.  As you know, the longer we go, the more off the rails the ending becomes.

The Year 1997

We are nearing the end of our two horror franchises.  One has stayed relatively consistent to the series, while the other has completely jumped the shark.  We ended up doing two movies from each franchise, which leaves us with only two left from each.

The Trek Through The Horror Franchises Continues.

This episode we close out the original trilogy.  As stated in another movie, "there's only one return ok, and it's not of the king, its of the jedi."  What ended up being a satisfying ending lead to a long hiatus before they came back to slightly controversial results.  For now, we stick to the finale of the first three and the impact it had on us.

It's A Trap!

This episode the two original hosts take a look at a new release on Disney+ premiere access.  It is an interesting take on the origin story of one of their classic characters.  Surprisingly, we both liked the movie a lot more than we thought we would.

The Thing Is, I Was Born Brilliant, Born Bad, And A Little Bit Mad.

This episode we take a look at a new release that is about to drop off of HBOMax.  A star studded cast and a director with a proven track record makes for an enjoyable watch, even if there was a bit of disagreement on the ending.

We are taking a bit of a different approach with our category podcast this week.  Instead of talking about certain movies, we chose to discuss an actor or actress who tragically died at a young age cutting their promising career short.  We each chose someone different, with each passing at a different age and also from different circumstances.

Continuing our trek backwards leads us to 1998.  It was a bit of a weaker year than we have had previously, but there were still a few hidden gems while also being pretty top heavy.  There was a decent amount of crossover between the three, but also some movies were discussed that the other hosts had not seen, which may be why it went so long.

The Year 1998

This episode we take a look at two very different horror movies.  The first is one that just came out and is a very loud, bright, zombie heist film.  You can definitely tell who the director of the film is by watching it.  The second film is a foreign vampire arthouse film shot in black and white that came out a few years ago.
