In a more typical year, Christmas is advertised as a season of joy, excitement, and happiness.  And this year, as we weather a pandemic, we are grieving and longing and struggling on multiple levels. Perhaps in no other Christmas season of our lives do the shadows of the night feel as looming and overwhelming.  So welcome to this service of hope and healing on this, the longest night of this very long year. Her story was part of a project by The Nocturnists entitled "Black Voices in Healthcare," a podcast series dedicated to telling the stories of Black doctors fighting two pandemics: Covid-19 and racial inequity.
