Thomas and Scott are back to cover season two episode five of The Avengers, and the snooze fest known as “Mission to Montreal”. Were introduced to Dr. King, a pale, stone faced substitute for Ian Hendry in an episode that barely takes place anywhere near Montreal. A train wreck of a Hollywood starlet is taking a ship to her hometown in the Great White North, but first there will be some international intrigue along the way and pills, so many pills. Dr. King, master of the expressionless gaze is infiltrating as the ingénues personal physician and pharmacist and he acts as if hes taken some of his own medicine, but we get some great side characters and Steed as a ships steward serving everyone else the champagne for a change. Come along for the trip and suffer with us through this one, Venus Smith is back next month to make the pain go away with some songs. Coverage of Season Two Episode Five

Its a tale of corporate boardroom intrigue and murder this month as Thomas and Scott recap “Bullseye”. Its Cathy Gale doing all the heavy lifting for Steed this time as she infiltrates a gun manufacturing company that seems to be having a major problem with their stockholders being the fatal victims of their product. Fear not, Cathy is there to solve the mystery and, presumably, to make Steed a healthy stock profit. Is it the Avengers version of Gordon Geckko who is trying to take over the company? Is it the mild mannered secretary? Is it the creepy board member who cant stop touching women inappropriately? Is it Cathy Gale? All will be revealed as The Avengers give us this great Honor Blackman centered episode. Get ready to rumble as With Umbrella Charm and Bowler wrestles the third episode of season two to the ground and makes it submit. Thomas and Scott don their masks and cover The Decapod, which is a ten tentacle cephalopod, but thats not important right now. What is important is that Steed and singing companion Venus Smith have to protect a rather colorful leader of a Balkan country who has a penchant for watching his body guards wrestle, no judgement here. We get to see the seeds of The Avengers we know begin to take root with this one and we also get introduced to Steeds new companion Cathy Gale, played by the incomparable Honor Blackman. Steed and Gale face off against a gadget orientated hitman with a penchant for stuff animals, mannequin heads and little pills that go boom. Also in this episode we meet Steeds boss, his dog and learn that he really needs to lock his apartment more often. Blackman gives us a solid debut as a worldly anthropologist who in many ways steals the episode from Macnee as they match wits with the first true Avengers super villain.
