Episode 158: Let's Play a Game

It's a new week and we're back with a Nate and Not Nate hour this week. We push through some of the fun news throughout the week such as the ocean being on fire. We look at how England was doing very English things over the weekend. We go down a few other random rabbit holes before Nate sets the agenda for the show. Nate felt it was time to talk about iconic film characters and the actors who play them. This was more challenging than you would feel seeing that remembering the character's full name is a bit of a head-scratcher at times. Enjoy the show this week.

Episode 157: What Makes Them Iconic?

With the distraction of the Euros coming to an end and a few fun technological issues, we had a good dive down our typical rabbit holes. We've been able to set a new timetable with PHD (Pre Huw Days). We have fun discussing the ramifications of fireworks in healthy scenarios as well as how a certain law enforcement group handled some. Nate wants to go over some of the food eating issues from the holiday. We go down some memory lanes of our childhoods via the sports world. Would Something About Mary hold up these days? Social media is still lost on Huw and that isn't anything new. We take a moment to discuss the money student-athletes are looking at now with the lift of NCAA regulations. Episode 156: Here Comes the Boom!

Here we are back again and there was movement in the real world today. While recording there was more news than we were able to handle or keep up with it feels like. We did what we could with Cosby, Allison Mack, and Rumsfeld. As we know this isn't a reliable news source but we enjoy the little bit of banter before going into our wheelhouse. Nate got back out there to the theaters and gave an amazing non-spoiler review of F9. Sam did have a work call that left Huw and Nate to their own devices and you can see where the wheels fell off the bus. Hope everyone is well and getting ready for the next wave of fun.

Episode 155: Breaking News a Day Late

Always fun to start off a show with a little technical difficulty, which we were able to pull through in the end. We have a nice little dive into the Olympics that takes us into certain NCAA rulings and getting athletes paid. Nothing says old like discussing the issues with time zones after a little talk about Sedona. We take a moment to discuss the advantages of your child being able to make themselves breakfast. Nate brings up the small issue that Jon Stewart and his recent interview. Episode 154: Time Zone Chronicles

Hey everyone and sorry for the delay. We decided to have a little break while Nate was on a mini-vacation. Some might say that Kansas is a perfect location to visit right now. Sam needs to learn that she can't leave the guys alone if you don't want to hear old men complain about the weather and travel. This is where we are in life and I hope you guys can handle that one. Nate fills us in on the new movies coming out because he saw trailers at a movie theater. We look at 40 years of Indiana Jones and the fun it brought as well as some philosophical breakdowns of how certain things happened. Nate feels like filling us in on the world of Tik Tok a little bit which is lost on Huw. We do a little breakdown on the recent drama in Chrissy Teigen's recent drama before signing off for the day.

Episode 153: Opening Day

We hope everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend a bit more than Huw did with a few poor results from the soccer matches. Nate wants to get into so ASMR when it comes to the show. We do our fun dive into certain films that lead us through the rabbit hole of Sly Stallone, which brings us to fried chicken. We take a moment to talk about the Friends special and the Irish uncle meme that is going around. We do take a second to go over some secret societies and the fun that Ellie Kemper found herself over the weekend. Hope everyone is doing well and getting used to being released back into society.

It is that time of the week and the entertainment of the What Hpnd 2us crew is here to help. We have a small issue of figuring out the newest saying in the world and Cheugy is it. The spelling of the word alone is somewhat annoying. We dive into modern-day dating issues. There is a slight dive into the political world but we keep it light, as we do. How many of you make the mistake of watching the wrong movie? How long does it take you to figure out that you're watching the wrong movie? Just asking for a friend. We dive into some financial situations in films and dealing with the backend points. Sam lets us know how she feels about certain accents in America. This is the week where Nate is able to connect things in a rabbit hole that would make most scratch their head in utter confusion. Sam makes a stand that Nate needs to start pecking away at his to-watch list. We dive into the out-of-work MAGA actors who are causing a stir in society. Sam has some advice for those complaining about living in a blue state. Huw took a moment to realize what the male Karen could be going forward. We dive into some of the Daily Show contributors and shows we're fans of at the moment. Finally, Sam has to deal with kids and their birthdays now and what people are doing. Who is feeling the need for a road trip? I think Huw might still be recovering from one back in his 20s. This takes a turn from an odd situation of Real EsNate to a dark angle of the curse of Glee. Then Nate takes a huge dive into the rebirth of Bennifer 2.0. Let the rabbit hole open because this takes us to Jennifer Garner movies and an honest look at Pearl Harbor. We take a moment to look at a few mental breakdowns and dealing with some fan worship that goes a little too far. Whatever happened to the film critic? Because we are missing a few of the weekends of watching some of the classic critics. Here we are a crew of fully vaxed podcasters. We're starting to realize that life will soon get back to normal or close to. Monty Python is a theme that runs throughout the show today. We have a little derby talk because it really led us down to some of the summer drinks we like. Getting back out and eating at restaurants. We discuss some of the failures in technology companies. We look at some of the late-night shows that have strived in this era. We go through a reboot of Night Court that is coming. Somehow Adam Sandler leads us to Willy Wonka. And the high energy of the show would not be the same if Nate hadn't gotten his second shot. The crew gets to go over a few of Joe Rogen's statements about the vaccine. Brings us to some political figures who are bad doctors and seeing that it is Super Hero day had to include some comic book doctors. We dive into the California governor situation and some of the candidates. We jump into the Oscars and the show. Do a little bit of the streaming conversation as well as scenarios over in the WWE. Here we are and there was a moment that happened this week that gave many of us a moment of clarity. As for us, we decided to talk about the crap college town Huw lived in. We re-lived the days where Sam worked in a family-owned video rental store. This leads us from Faces of Death to Fast and the Furious doing time travel. How we got here is one hell of a ride. We dive into the choices of our youth and the fashion that came along with it. We take a swing at a little music this week with Blink-182 being a strong focus. Finally, Sam shares a few things about growing up that will hit the soul. Hopefully, everyone is staying safe and wearing their masks and finally getting those shots.

We gave a fun start to the show and don't feel like spoiling from this weekend and the continuation of scenarios going on in the news. Nate is feeling the need to step back from a certain platform of social media. We are now all a test study going forward for the vaccine. This takes us down a rabbit hole of the drunkest country in the world. We go through some recent celebrities' deaths because you know, fun. The closing of a landmark here in town and some of the fond memories we have of the spot. Some filler conversation before diving into the nuts of the show and looking for a replacement for James Bond. Sam really had her finger on the pulse of this one.
