For those who don’t know, we tally up everyones thumbs each episode and render them as a percentage of possible thumbs for the show. The old system was calibrated to WWE Raw, which was a more … inconsistent product. But because Dynamite is consistently good, we had to make it harder! We did what most people do once they've been vaccinated near the end of a pandemic: drive an hour out of town to watch the PPV at a plush Cinemark and do a podcast on the way back! This episode was recorded on the drive from Long Beach to Hollywood (then a stop-off at Fatburger, and another loop through WeHo and back up Sunset and Hollywood Blvd. because there was JUST TOO MUCH WRASSLIN to cover!) If you like crystal clear audio, then definitely skip this one. But it does improve significantly about a third of the way through the episode, so ... y'know, whatever works for you. Christian Cage puts in his best showing yet, Mox and Eddie versus The Acclaimed contains all the verbal fireworks you would expect, The Varsity Blonds acquit themselves well against the Young Bucks. Match of the Night, however, goes to the BRUTALIZATION of one Red Velvet at the hands of one Serena Deeb. Very happy to see her back and very happy you’re back too. Thanks for listening! Rating: 95% - Must Watch(ish) Hey, it’s our one year anniversary since starting AEW Dynamite! Which is crazy because it felt like we had been doing Raw for years before that, but it was only about six months - THAT’S HOW EXHAUSTING IT WAS. This year has flown by! That being said, this may have been the dullest 95% show allowed by our current understanding of the physical laws of the universe. Everything is executed properly, but it all feels like setup for something else. Nothing wrong with that particularly - Blood and Guts is coming and we’re stoked! Lotta great stuff in this show.
